DPF Regeneration driving me crazy...

No, but I've been stuck behind plenty of diesel pickups with the black smoke rolling out of the exhaust... talk about something that will choke you out. And why is it that guys who drive those deleted diesels are so scared of shutting them of in a parking lot? Do they think that we WANT to listen to that rattle and smell their stench, or is it just that they are scared it won't start again if they shut it off?
ok point is?
I never deleted any Diesel engine Ive ever owned and I love clean air.
This thread is about “DPF REGEN driving me crazy”, not rednecks rolling coal.
I hate needless excessive pollution. Just because I farm and run machinery doesnt mean I approve of environmental abuse.

Point is, I was comparing older diesels to your quote;
Ever been stuck behind a 6.4L Ford diesel in regen? Better switch your HVAC to “recirculation”. It’ll choke you out.
And it isn't just deleted pickups which I was referring to. It's also the "Pre emissions" pickups which were and still are on the road.

OK one more question- Are you in favor pre emissions, unmodified trucks being removed from service? older diesels arent supposed to make excessive smoke. If they do, they’ve been modified.
Sorry to get off topic to others

My pre missions Cummins don't smoke. Unless I add oil to the fuel

What ever floats your boat. But I see no reason to dump excess fuel into the cylinders just to make smoke.

Its stupid, looks stupid and its environmentally irresponsible.

I do understand Jstpssng . . . my 1ton 06 ram diesel can smoke a small amount under load (it is not stock).

Boy, that is no joke. Back then they were new, there was an F550 chassis cab ambulance with one of these engines at work. It would just billow out massive clouds of acrid white smoke when it went into regen. It made the previous "kings of the smudge pots," the 2.5 L Chrysler four-bangers from the late '80s with shot valve seals and early '90s and Mazda rotaries, look positively clean-burning by comparison.

I don't mind a little smoke. I would rather have some smoke than to put up with costly emissions equipment.
I like to see my tractor smoke a little when I crank it. When it does, I know there are no emissions to worry about.

Not at all. The only reason I made my comment was in response to yours about the Ford regen stench. (I’ve been told I’m not a true fan because I don’t care to smell them)
Who knows, there might even be somebody out there who enjoys the smell of the new Fords the way some like the smell of diesel.

Then again, probably not.
