I'm curious what you're imaging for "diverters". I could picture just buying some aluminum angle strips from home depot, and bolting to s5 brackets, making a "V" above the chimney. Our basic snow guards seem to be doing the trick for 6 years now, but I can't go up and see it directly in the winter.

Yes the diverter is a wedge to split the snow and ice so it doesnt push on the chimney. The standing seam makes it harder to set up and I was planning tonise the s-5 clamps but was having trouble figuring out the rest of it. I can just buy a pre-made one for about $450. But something about that kills my soul.

How about just some aluminum angle, two pieces to make a "v"? It would cost you $10. Ok, $30-40 with clamps and whatnot. $450 is insane; I'm sure your budget is stretched out already on the whole build.

I am not too embarrassed to say that one of the support legs for my extended chimney pipe is clamped onto a standing seam with a small old c-clamp that I didn't mind giving up. Cranked down super tight, a little natural rust to lock it in place, et voila.

Great video you and your wife are a great team. My wife and I always worked together painting houses, grass cutting weed eating, wood flooring carpenter work. She does not like cleaning cars and I don’t do windows so we fit. Working together is something you all will never forget

Tough deciding what to keep and what to cut. When our church building was being built, I put up an IP camera and have over 80k pictures. Made a time lapse of the construction. Took a long time to put together, and still over an hour long. I need to cut it down more.

I figured it would be easy until I started. But you end up wading thru countless hours of video and going thru the edit multiple times, cutting things down by a fraction of a second. My wife loves it and has played it a dozen times. I guess that’s good enough to justify most of the effort.

Spent most of today up on the roof. We installed most of the snow guards for the main roof deck. It will be finished tomorrow. My back hurts.

Do they clamp on the standing seam?

Nice time lapse. Yeah those take a lot of time to put together. I'm still amazed that you have time to do all these videos, work and build the place...(y)

I forgot to take a picture of it yesterday. Hopefully the video turns out good. We will be back up there today, but it is 18 degrees right now so I will probably do a Little tractor work first. Our shared road is a terrible mess right now. I hate to say it, but some of the people who drive that rod are just idiots. Cant drive slowly thru the puddles, always trying to splash mud up and a puddle turns into a pothole.
My electrician brought up all the supplies Friday. We should be able to get inspection done for temp power this coming week. i still wont be able to get it because I have to dig a trench and drop the well line in when they trench the power, but I am certainly looking forward to it

Not a great picture but here are the snow guards.
