But you didn’t talk to the people who can provide cost/share funds? Who are you calling? Did you talk with the Forest management professionals that I described? You have been asking for advice and I am a professional forester of 40 career years who is very experienced with wildfire rehab. You refuse to listen and take my advice, so knock yourself out and learn the hard way.
I hate to say it, but you dont seem to understand. For real estate we have to clear land for the houses, so if there was someone lower, we would find them....

You are clearing land to subdivide it?

We specialized in the agricultural area in real estate, so most of it is heavy woods and brush, and we sell acreage we acquired as we judge market demands, or work with the contractors to clear lots for clients in some cases for new construction, and hold on to some for farming and planting. We had to let the animals go, cows, donkeys, chickens, goats, guinee hens, etc.. as we are getting up the years and my wife and I just cant keep up with the sometimes mischievous littles rascals, to say the least.. But our fruit trees (the ones the 'rascals' didnt eat) are growing and doing quite well, so we have decided to expand our fruit trees and vegetables, so I have to clear down to the dirt where we will plant, and other lots just knock out the invasives. So its just time consuming, but can be down with hard labor, a small tractor, and renting the big stuff as needed, but basically have a budget that we set for the year...

The TurboSaw on 3 ph is what I use.

Or to drop 9" spruce tree when thinning and releasing red oak.

Trim just below ground line. Use it to leave area mowable and no stumps to drive over.

Seems to me for a person in position above, you should either. 1. Hire it out and include cost into property deals, 2. Get a reasonable assessment for equipment you need from a professional and bit the bullet and either throw budget out or write equipment costs into budget, 3. Abandon project....
And sit around twitting my thumbs, thats not in the picture..

FECON forestry mulchers are something you should look at.
There are 7 plus FECON dealers in Florida that could rent or lease one to you.

They have three models.

FTX150-2
FTX200
FTX300

They also have a bunch of videos on you tube or accessed directly on thier home page.

This is the smallest model that is track driven and self propelled with a very wide
shredding head that can dig below ground level.

You have nothing to lose and much to gain by talking to a FECON dealer.

That works pretty good. Would be nice on the front of my Massey. :)
Cutting trees down is difficult work, but getting rid of them is much harder to me.

I think a quarter of a million is just a bit much to clear out a few lots, even a used one...

RENTING OR LEASING this machine is what I was stating to you as it could be done in a few days by yourself once they teach you how to use it.
