Good morning!!!!

...the noise really bothers my tinnitus. So I may stick with the shovel. Should really get a pusher model with wheels.
Wear ear plugs or muffs and get a battery powered snow blower(much quieter)
Pushers, if gas powered, are just as loud as gas powered snow blowers and tend to get stuck if any serious amount of snow.
Shoveling, at our age (I'm72 and don't think you're too far behind me), is a heart attack waiting to happen

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 8:00AM. Sunny. High 64F. Winds light and variable.
And you guessed it, still no rain in the 10-day.

Spent a fair number of days in Albuquerque. Had my first "Christmas" (red and green salsa) burrito at Golden Pride, then found Hello Delli and was hooked. Quarters was good for BBQ, and I could get a couple beers to go next door. I found a place called La Traviata in Santa Fe one night by following my nose off the plaza and discovered a New Mexican flavored Italian restaurant. But I went back a few years later and it had changed hands, and the magic was gone.

You make a convincing case for coal, Lou. But all that chopping, stacking, and hauling is so good for you! 😄 And my wood is otherwise free...

If I woke up and saw that out the window, Randy, Ken, Drew, I'd roll back over and pull the covers over my head.

As expected yesterday, not much luck on the insurance front. I requested quotes from a broker that handled Chubb. Another broker refused to even quote anything but the FAIR plan, but a third that represented Lloyds among others at least sent out a request. So there's a slim chance of an alternative, but I'll have to wait until next week. Got to thinking this is maybe a good thing, another nail in the California coffin, and maybe the one that has me looking to move to someplace safer, and saner. And much more affordable. At over $7,000/year just for insurance, I'd feel more like a renter than a homeowner.

Took the oil pan off the RT yesterday and found the quarter sized end off the lifter laying in the bottom. Looks like it didn't give up without a fight, and that dent has me wondering if it also bent the cam. Need to remove more stuff from the engine to find out, maybe later today.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and that the snow doesn't pile up too high.

It's a shame that insurances are enough to drive people out of a place that they like.
My insurance is quite reasonable but the taxes make up for that.

8°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 38° today. It's already up to 27° now at 11:05 here.

I can tell you that with a 10mph wind blowing, sweat pants was the wrong choice walking out to feed the chickens this morning.

PJ so now 1 arm bigger than he other?
Hahaha ... no. I decided very early in that process that the best course of action would be to move forward with one arm, then switch to the other to return the table to the starting point. Both were equally sore that night.
PJ is there a story behind the requisite Left?
It's an old Bugs Bunny reference. In one cartoon, he popped up out of a hole and wasn't where he expected to be. As he was looking at a map, he commented, "I knew I should have made a left at Albuquoyque."
When we were pulling out of the parking lot, I noted to my Wife that we were making that left, and she laughed. The 11-year-old boy in the back seat didn't get what was so funny.
PJ, did you happen to go to La Posada in Winslow when you traveled through? We had an unplanned day and found it while exploring. They were still renovating the old hotel while we were there, so we couldn't see all of it, but it's a masterpiece...fell in love and booked a room..."the Roy Rogers" room...and had what we thought was one of the best 5 meals in our life in their Turquoise Room restaurant.
No, we didn't do much exploring there at all. We had one day that we used for a bunch of miscellaneous adventures. While we were on our way to Meteor Crater, we heard a radio ad for the Winslow stuff, so we stopped there and took a bunch of pictures "standin' on the corner" next to the flatbed Ford, then left. The 11-year-old didn't get that either until we got back to the hotel that night and I found the song on YouTube for him. He responded, "So, all of that was over a couple of lines in a song?" Yes, yes it was.

Some names to go along with all those faces would be great, Bird. So would one of those TBN shirts.

Welcome to the GM thread to the new guys.

I'm pretty sure I've posted some in the past about the IRS this year. I keep seeing things on the Internet AND TV about the IRS being shorthanded, new laws, and that tax refunds may be late coming this year. However, I also saw one thing on TV that said that mostly applies to incomes over a certain amount that was considerably more than my income.

At any rate, just thought I'd let you know that I filed with TurboTax on 1/21/2022 and they showed an "expected acceptance date" of "Late January." Three days later, January 24, TurboTax sent a message that "Your federal tax return was accepted by the IRS." And now the IRS website shows my refund should be deposited on 2/1/2022 and I just now was checking something else and found that my credit union already shows the "pending deposit" for Feb. 1.

Doesn't sound to me as if the IRS is running too far behind.

Good afternoon
16°f snowing and windy 15-30 mph. About 4" so far, supposed to hit 2-3" per hour shortly. It's definitely a do nothing day. The misses is making some chicken soup for supper and we'll find a movie to watch.

Stay safe and enjoy your day everyone.
