Ford 2600 CAV injection pump no injector port flow/pressure. Tore it down. Had a spline coupler bolt come loose and bang it up a bit internally, but appears serviceable. Question: What is the smaller pin? It is next to a 3/8 combination wrench?

It might be the regulating piston. That's part of the end plate assembly but surrounded by other parts. Where did you find it? o_O

Thank you. I'll get better familiar with the regulator and end plate assembly. Found it in the bottom of the main housing along with that damaged bolt. The other bolt was also found hand tight. This tractor sat in rain for 20 years, I rescued it, and I have about 3 hours on it before the injection pump went like this. Solid little tractor worth restoring though.

There’s no way that’s a regulator piston..
Look at the head... there should be 2 rollers on it..
Usually when those screws back out, the head and rotor seize..
Can u spin the rotor.??

Thank you.Yes, everything spins and rolls fine. Those head rollers are in place fine. I'll inspect the head assembly closer.

Hmmm..??
Then I don’t have a clue what that might be..??
Unless it was dropped in the pump externally..??
Good luck.

Thank you. I found that 3/8 long pin while pump was still mounted on tractor when I removed the pump side cover. Fished pin and the bolt out with a screwdriver and then decided to pull pump and go through it (of course.)

Mystery solved. See pics. The throttle plate was smacked by the loose bolt banging around, and bent it at the bottom corner hinge point, and knocked that small throttle plate spring stud off/out from underneath the plate. It left that plate a bit twisted and dented and bulged at the hinge, which restricted movement of the plate and linkage assembly.

Where can I buy a replacement plate? (I can tig weld and straighten this one if I have to, using good hinge side as a reference, but would rather not.)

Thank you all for taking a look.

Hmmmmmm. I guess I'm clueless also. There's no way the regulating piston could get into the body unless someone picked off the floor and put it in there. Or there's more parts missing. 😏 The piston is part of the fuel inlet stack.

Does the pump still have a tag on it. I was guessing it to be a mechanically governed model DPA pump. But, just a guess. I couldn't tell by your pictures.

Edit: Ops. Not a DPA. Just saw your latest pictures. Can't help you with the parts. I'd repair it and keep going.
