Good morning! 27° now, was 23° when I got up. Supposed to get to 51 or so today.
Sitting here waiting to see if the steering wheel holder shows up to move the machine. If so, going to be LONG day. We plan on doing the delivery today yet today due to schedules. If not today, likely early next week.
@mostly_gas - I didn't keep a log. And I actually thought I had forgotten most of it. But each day it comes back clearly. Like my stay in the hospital, I am wanting this to end.
So to continue...there are not many days left.
I had the usual morning blood draw and the ****** Youth showed up and trashed everything. Waited and got on the iPad and checked the outcome. The blockage had changed shape, but did not shrink.....
Kandi asked me if I thought I could take my meds by mouth, tried it, it worked. It also meant she left the NG tube off longer. Which I was all for. There was VERY little material coming out of my stomach. She also decided it was time to stop wasting time and test strips testing me for diabetes. My blood sugar level had never been a problem and now was below normal. Which means I was about normal for me on blood sugar. She prepped my left arm for the pick line since it was scheduled for around 10 in the morning.
So the wait started. She came in just before 10 and told me it was being pushed back a little. So I waited some more. And waited. The time kept getting pushed back. Finally about 2, they came and took me to have the pick line installed. This was the first time I had left my room in step down since I had been moved there. It would be the only time I left it until I was discharged.
The tech's took me to have the pick line installed, they moved me onto a table which was a struggle, I was pretty weak by this point. Doctor came into to do the procedure. I actually knew him. We talked briefly, he prepped my arm, and it was installed. Then back to the room.
When I got back to the room, fairly quickly Kandi showed up with 2 feed bags (my term). One was lipid fats, the other was some sort of liquid nutrient. I asked Kandi if they scraped the griddle at Wendy's for the lipid fats. She laughed. She hooked me up and adjusted the drip rate.
Literally within 2 hours, I was feeling somewhat better. I had a little bit of energy and the brain fog was lifting. That would only improve over time.
Dr. Deb A was in and checked on how my stomach was handling the water and meds. She was pleased there were no issues. She listened to my abdomen and was pleased with the sounds she was hearing. I could actually feel some activity from that area.
During the night, I began to have issues with the NG tube. It felt like it was actually pulling at my stomach. There were times I could see a little blood in the suction line. I got the night shift nurse to adjust things several times which only delayed the same reaction. Finally, early in the morning, it was shut off for the last time...….
Everyone stay safe out there!
