XU6168 w/ LL5106 loader bucket upgrade

Hi All -

New to the forum. I have an XU6168 that I'm using for general property work and light forest management. it's looking like most of the tractors value will be in managing timber/slash, cutting roads, grading, gravel. To that end, I'm considering a new larger capacity toothed bucket. Dealer said it's a standard skid-steer quick-connection so the options are near unlimited.

Spec sheet for the LL5106 says it has a 3K lifting capacity, which means it could handle a bucket capacity of around a yard. Anyone tried a larger capacity bucket with an LL5106?

I'd say play with what you got & check your comfort level/lifting needs before investing in a bigger bucket. I'm guessing the extra weight of the bucket will pretty much offset any extra volume capacity unless your simply moving sawdust/twigs & lots of air. I've got the xr4150 w/LL4104 & it's stated lift capacity for the loader is supposed to be ~2700 lb, but I find it tends to be weaker. I couldn't lift a Cummins 6CTA out of trailer (~2k weight) with bucket/chains or pallet forks, but the lift is better closer to grade level. LS has a rep for weak loaders that is related to the pumps they use (at least on the 4XXX & lower series). A grapple might make more sense if it's for the timber, not much help on the gravel. I wound up picking up a mini ex for the lifting/light dozing that the LS wouldn't do & don't regret the decision for a minute.
