Previous owner welded the 3PH lever saying that it will prevent deadheading the pump with the backhoe attached

Does this make sense to anyone?

It makes sense if he rerouted the fluid flow from the 3ph pump. Otherwise, no.

With that 3 pt backhoe setup, the 3 pt can't move up or down. If the 3 pt lever was accidentally moved up, it would force the fluid through the relief valve constantly since the 3 pt can't really go up.

So to prevent that, he welded the 3 pt lever in place, which is honestly quite an extreme measure. He probably had that happen to him, till eventually damaged the pump, most likely from the oil getting crazy hot from being constantly forced through the relief valve.

The 3 pt backhoe has it's own pump running of the PTO, so that has nothing to do with the tractor hydraulic system.

If was patient enough, it wouldn't have taken more than 30 minutes to fix up a removable clamp and set screw to do the same thing.

Why would you do that when you got a rod burner sitting there doing nothing? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Could a guy just remove and reassemble the stop onto the other side of the stick? Add star-type lock-washers above and below the quadrant and reef 'er down. btw, if the hoe is never off and the lever wont be moved by new owner, after a few rains or washes the stop might rust in place. [BTDT]

(I'm always trying to think outside the Cheetos bag.)
