Thanks for the detailed explanation of the lines ptsg.
For the PB I do not have any rear remotes/quick disconnect.
I‘ll trace these lines today to get a better understanding of the system.
LouNY, I too have considered that the relief valve could have been set too high. It seems to make sense that a high setting might result in the damage over time. Thanks for your input.

So true Omega Woods! I wouldn’t have attempted this repair without this forum and help from its members, especially ptsg.

I just left the Dealership, parts are ordered and expected in 3-5 business days!
I think I have it covered, here’s a list of what I ordered.

HK02340000B3 COVER HYD PUMP GEAR 1 @ $ 24.72
HRA4000300A3 HYD PUMP GEAR. 1 @ $ 69.62
HK02350000A4 PACKING (GASKET). 1 @ $ 2.14
24101-060064 BEARING, BALL 2 @ $ 11.06
NT99010000A3 HYDPUMP13CC. 1 @ $327.54
HH02080000A4 PACKING (HYD PUMP)
(GASKET) 1 @ $ 1.66

I’ll also need gasket sealer, filters/oil
Total before shipping (couldn’t be calculated I’ll owe it when parts come in). $ 479.15

I have to say I expected it to be more expensive than that, hopefully parts make it here that quickly and things go back together without issue.

With the help of this forum I replaced my hydraulic pump for loader .The power steering was fine. I ordered all my parts from SIDS Trading Co.,LLC 2293 Hwy 25 South, Luka, Mississippi 38852 phone 662-424-0025. My pump was burnt no good. When I replaced it, the bolts that secure high pressure tube to gear pump blew out , I guess I over tighten them, I was not about to buy another pump. Bought from Grainger thin wall M6x1mm keyed inserts pack of 5. Bought from Parts Plus 4 locally, 10.0x1.25 M Tap;11/32 Drill Bit; (4) hex metric bolts for pump and Blue Thread Lock. Note: steel inserts are different than heli coils. I paid $42 form Grainger. It still working. I tapped and drilled holes in pump myself, I took pump just the gear pump on and off three times, out in the field. With the knowledge and experience of this forum, I am 69 year old woman, and this forum led and guided me through. I used come a long to move pipes enough to remove and install pump. This was on my 2910i Branson.

I've been thinking about this all day, it's like 8 PM over here, and was wondering about the worn out splines, if it could've been caused by just normal use, as in high hours. Although, it would have to be really high hours for that to happen.

That's definitely very low hours on that tractor. Sometime ago, there was a 3510 for sale local to me with around 3500 hours and that's actually not that many hours for a tractor that of that age in this country.

I'm now starting to think that the loader valve may not be connect right and therefore, the relief valve can't work as it should.

After I replaced gear pump and hoses, gaskets exterior. Hydraulics still wouldn’t work, went back to basics, started with hydraulic filters , including the mesh one, replaced low side sucking hose and clamps, and then tried 3 point and loader, it worked, the low side sucking hose was bad allowing air in the lines. I then took loader cylinders and power beyond control and had them rebuilt. Tractor operating as should.

Lots of information here that I have found helpful. My 2003 3510 has really low hours (198) and I consider myself fortunate with the minimal repairs I've had to make. I did have the "bouncing" 3-point about 4 years after purchase and it was fixed by replacing the original hydraulic filter. I've also replaced more "O" rings than I care to count. I've replaced nearly every hydraulic hose on the loader and have not had any problem with air in the system. My power steering went out around 2013, but the pump wasn't the culprit. Turned out to be a hose and a leaky fluid tank (original was plastic) which I replaced with a metal tank. There aren't many Branson tractors around here that I know of (nearest dealer is about 200 miles away), so I always look for the threads that include Branson stuff. I really appreciate all the help I get from this forum.

Hi Red_rider,
I hear you on the o ring replacements, my quick connects just seem to consume them!
I too have learned so much from this forum/members, I didn’t even know where the hyd. Pump was when I started this repair.
I dropped the lower oil pan (flat metal plate) today, I was expecting it to be dirty and was planning to add some magnets (i‘m concerned about metal shavings from the gear drive destruction) It was very clean, there are also two magnets already attached to it. I cleaned it up and resealed/reinstalled it. I plan to do several oil/filter/flushes to both the engine and hyd. Systems once things are back together.
No parts this week, hopefully they show early next week, along with the test gauge I ordered.

Today I got the call that the parts came in. I drove down to pick them up, I looked them over and thought the pump drive gear seemed small but not having brought the old one with me I decided it was probably right.
Well its not the right gear, it’s much too small, theres also a difference on the pump, it’s suction side (new pump) is threaded for a screw in fitting/w an o ring recess. My old pump takes a 90 that has three bolts holding it on. I think I can just get a fitting and be ok, and use the new pump, everything else seems to be the same.
I returned to the parts department with my old and new parts, The parts guy helping me looked things up again and it appears that we ordered the correct part numbers.
He got the head repairman to help us out. The head repairman asked if I would leave the old and new gears and they would call Branson in the morning to get the right parts ordered and find out if the pump can be used with an adapter or if it’s just wrong for my tractor. Ugg, frustrating.

Just a short update on where things stand,

Parts Department used my engine ID plate and Tractor ID number on panel near seat and several calls to Branson to determine correct parts (7-22-21). As of Friday (8-13-21) the correct (per parts dept./Branson) bearings and pump are in, the Pump Drive gear is coming from Korea, eta, anyone’s guess…. Most likely a few months.. Price has gone up considerably, it’s going to be an additional $700+, ugg, this pushes repairs to over $1200 in parts, (i‘m doing all the work).
I plan to stop by and look at the pump to determine if I agree that it’s correct,

Got the call late Friday, correct parts were in.
I picked them up Saturday but didn’t find time to install until today. I got it back together, just a few odds and ins to finish up. I did get to start it and check function out, all seems good.

I did purchase a replacement Tractor, there just isn’t enough support for Branson in my area, sticker shock on parts and wait time to come from Korea was another factor.

I'm currently trying to replace the hydro pump on my early 4020. Got the pump ready to come out but it won't pull out, tried to remove the steering pump, it won't come out. They hydro pump will move a little but it won't pull out of the gear. I haven't gotten to the point of removing the gear cover but I'd guess that's next.

Mine was the same, the way the shaft failed it created a lip and misalignment of the shaft/gear locking things together. In my case the ps pump did come off. The hydro was a battle and I did some extra damage getting it off.

I got the Hydro pump out, the shaft is intact, a little rusty, seems like there's a lot of rust dust on the bearing, still haven't got the PS pump off but at this point, I'm guessing I'll need to pull the gear cover and check everything out.

Update: Well, I put it all back together with the new pump to get the loader off, hydraulics are running good, sounds good. I replaced the 90 rubber elbow feeding the pump as it was cracked on the end, maybe the pump was sucking air from the crack and that's why it failed.

The 3 point is starting to bounce, I replaced the seal for that a few years ago, and I'm guessing whatever happened, I'll be replacing that here again shortly.
