It’s my understanding no state has a county named after that same state.

Many states have counties named for other states - but not named after themselves.

Thanks! I should have known that as I’ve been there a few times!!

According to the internet I was wrong. It says there are 7 states with counties named after the state - Iowa, NY, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Oklahoma and Utah.

Technically, I believe that NY state is named after the county. At least that was what I got from the link I previously posted.

Because it had to be hand sorted vs a machine sorting it, costs more for hand sorting.

For as long as I can remember, if a package is at my local UPS terminal by 2 or 3 AM, it has gone out for delivery that day. This has held true through the mess until just the last couple of weeks.

This package was there Saturday morning, so there is no reason for it not to have gone out today. Yet it didn't.
