Good evening, it has been a great day here to do anything that requires a bit of manual effort, lots of thick cloud to keep the sun away.

I have been chain sawing alder and silver birch that was felled in the wetland last year. This is the first time it has been dry enough to get in there without waders. Lush grass had grown over most of it, making it harder work than it would be in winter, but at least the timber is out now.

67F sun cloud mix 10mph wind.

Out the door just before day break 48F getting stuff ready to finish the shed roof,while on the roof notice Doe eating apple leaves side lawn and Boo slowly walking up the driveway...hmmm someone to talk to BOOM Doe runs into woods and Boo darts into woods and not to be seen,squirrel misstep knock the power out had to wait couple hours before electric company show up 3rd time this year it's happen,I was only 6 screws short finishing roof cap so 21 mile round trip for screws roof on never should have worry about that again.

Plans for this evening after dinner feet up that's it.

We had the Stepson and his partner who planned to stay for the weekend with us. They arrived on Friday night so we had our usual chinwag and bourbons etc. On Saturday morning the Govt. announced a sudden lockdown beginning at 4.00 p.m. so they had to pack up and head back home to Brisbane.
There was a schoolgirl that came down with covid so they shut the school and have no idea where she picked it up. Then 6 more kids came down with it so SNAP. Lockdown. Spoiled the weekend for everyone but so far they reckon it may only be 3 days. Luckily we had just stocked up our weekly groceries so we are OK so long as they don't extend the lockdown. Hate to finish up like Sydney is at present.
I was teaching Dan to fly the drone which had him amazed. He managed it really well. Then they both wanted a spin in the Mustang so had to oblige. Dan even took the Ranger for a run to the shop. Was a good weekend even though it was cut short.

Just after mid winter here and I still just wear a T shirt most days. (and pants of course)
