.................snip................. The F requires that constant tweak of the F/R pedal and steering, whereas the ZD is just one or two hands on the sticks are you are going................snip..................

I don't have ZD but we've had Grasshopper 721D for about 18 years and it has "sticks" like ZD does.

I think there is about same amount of tweaking with the sticks as there is with the F pedal & steering wheel, but you probably need more hours to get used to the difference?
It is different do doubt.

No argument about maneuverability!

Once you are seated in the F it's pretty comfortable - maybe your seat needs some help?

Last summer our a-hopper got one of these:

I don’t know, but it won’t be a long term warranty.

UPDATE: I got the machine back today. Was told it was successful and cost the dealer $6,000 to complete the work. I don’t know if that’s true. Service department manager seemed unhappy to have to eat that cost. I guess he wants the sales department to sell broken equipment to people and they eat the cost???
Anyway, got home with it about 7 and cut a few passes with it. Seemed to cut well and ran fine.

Dont know what the future holds with it.
I always figure the sales Dept should evaluate trades better before covering them with money. No sympathy from me (as a svc Dept employee) concerning internal repairs. The service Dept gets their $$ either way.

Glad it all worked out for the OP, so he didn,t have to go from the Kubota F club to the F Kubota club.

I think it’s just the seat base cushion, don’t know if it’s replaceable and if it is, if it’s worth replacing?
Or go big time with an air seat or something over the top.
I know my lower back suffers the crap ride quality of poor seats

What happened was the unit was traded with no mower. It was just the “tractor”. My belief is they never even bothered to test the PTO since it was probably never turned on in its 1000 hour life. But I always used to agree with the notion that lack of use is as bad as overuse (well, almost).

RickB, think I should keep it?
Would you trust an F thats been split?
I know you don’t know the tech, but he lives to repair tractors-down deep. But even then, it feels “weird”.

You should use it for a while and see if it fits your needs as well as you expected. If it does, select a complete new air seat that is a proper match for the operator station dimensions: base to seat cushion, suspension travel, etc.
I would have zero concerns about the repair itself. If you do, go back and request a copy of the work order and review the parts list and repair narrative. That shouldn't be a problem for the dealership.

Can anyone suggest a few different air seats?
