Won’t the dealer warranty their work? Like, if the same part/assembly broke a year after they fixed it… ???

I would expect dealer warranty might be 90 days....at best!

Not for more than a year, I am told.
I will get that confirmed, but that’s the typical warranty on repairs

I don’t know, but it won’t be a long term warranty.

UPDATE: I got the machine back today. Was told it was successful and cost the dealer $6,000 to complete the work. I don’t know if that’s true. Service department manager seemed unhappy to have to eat that cost. I guess he wants the sales department to sell broken equipment to people and they eat the cost???
Anyway, got home with it about 7 and cut a few passes with it. Seemed to cut well and ran fine.

Dont know what the future holds with it.

Really makes you think a bit more about buying used equipment. Id say 1/2 my farm equipment, trucks, trailers etc were bought new and 1/2 used.

There’s always a risk with used, but so far I’ve generally been willing to take on that risk with equipment. Other than some implements, and my BX new, everything else, including all vehicles, I have generally bought low hour/mileage, used. None of it makes me money.
We have 100 acres and let youth orgs (scouts, church groups, etc.) use it two weekends a month for camping but don’t charge for many reasons. So I want to have good reliable stuff to keep the place nice but need to be able to afford if with my day job salary.

I’d run the the thing for a year and see how it goes. The dealer had incentive to do a good job so they don’t have to deal with it again at their cost. If the dealer did a hack job on the repair, hopefully it would manifest itself before then…

Agree. If it was a hack job, I think there would be problems in 30-50 hours. Gonna run the heck out of it and see

Let us know how you like it compared to your Kubota Z after you get some good seat time.

Fingers crossed, but full disclosure- usually once a machine is split, I don’t trust it as much. Many parts need specific torque specs and factory assembly procedures. Nobody will be able to verify that was done.

The dealer does not want this mower to come back on their dime for the same issue, so I would think they had a competent mechanic working on it!

However I would suggest carefully checking out under the transmission for oil leaks after each mowing, as well all hydraulic hose connections - including the four hoses or pipes at the steering hydraulic controller up front and also around the oil cooler lines.

Pay close attention to areas where transmission cast aluminum pieces and center piece, as well as the HST join together.

I disassembled my 3600 hour F3060 completely (I mean all but the engine) mainly due to few oil leaks, and have it back together now and put on 10 hours of mowing since.

So far my mower works perfectly and is 100% leak free but I will keep monitoring.

Ok, so I know someone wanted to give comparisons to my ZD331 72” and my newly acquired split and repaired F3680.
I mowed 2 large lawns with the F over the last couple days. I do not have a lot of seat time yet. Here’s what I noticed. Even though they are different style mowing machines, I will compare to the ZD331.
Manueveribilty: ZD331
Comfort: ZD331
Speed: ZD331
Traction: F3680
Ease of use: ZD331
Loading on/off trailer: ZD331

So you may be thinking the F is a bust, it’s not. The ZD is just easier to get on and mow grass. The F requires that constant tweak of the F/R pedal and steering, whereas the ZD is just one or two hands on the sticks are you are going. The feet do very little work. I don’t know if it’s my particular F seat, but mine is NOT comfortable. If anyone is aware of a replacement, please advise. Mine is probably just shot, but appears to be like new.
As seat time continues, I will update more. I think my ideal machine would be a Ferris for comfort with a Kubota drivetrain for reliability and power.
