Certainly good advice if you can transit a state without stopping for gasWe already have. However, you still need to follow the state's laws that you're traveling through.
I would just not reccomend stopping in a state while traveling if you know the state has strict gun laws.
Also keep in mind, even if you are following the state's law, that does not prevent you from being arrested (why you don't stop IMO).
As long as your are following the letter of the law, stopping for gas isn't an issue unless you make it an issue.Certainly good advice if you can transit a state without stopping for gasIrony is a hoot.
Best,
I'm surprised.Getting back to the original post; I wouldn't be surprised if any and all charges are dropped.
I had reasons for that comment but you did ask that we don't turn this political, and I think that's a good idea.I'm surprised.
You're closer to Mass than I am, and I can't see anyway where the state of Massachusetts's isn't going to throw the book at these guys.
End of day, Mass is just like NY, NJ and Md. They don't screw around when out of staters break their gun laws driving with firearms in the vehicle. If anything, these guys deserve to be made an example of as long as they did break the state law they were driving through.
What is amazing is if you watch that FB video by their "leader" during the standoff, for a guy who doesn't reconize State or Federal laws, he was spouting off a few for his defense. The Moors or Moorish do not recognize Federal or State Laws.

Moorish Sovereign Citizens
The Moorish sovereign citizen movement is a collection of independent organizations and lone individuals who emerged in the early 1990s as an offshoot of the antigovernment sovereign citizens movement, adherents of which believe that individual citizens hold sovereignty over, and are independent...www.splcenter.org

Your comment was fine. It was what I wrote, then deleted which crossed over the lines.I honestly did't see my comment as being political, but just a fact.
About 15 years ago, even when married I had issues with wearing a seat belt at times driving by myself. I don't believe in seat belt laws but yes, I do believe they save lives overall. I didn't like getting tickets for seat belt infractions, but I paid my fine and moved on.
I don't look at a forum as a mean to complain about laws or turn those laws political (particularly here), but the reality is you can't ignore them if they are a central part of the story posted.
Do I agree with some state laws on guns? No I don't. That said, I obey them.
