Lithium it is. Interesting though there does not appear to be any lithium in JD's best multipurpose grease which they specifically mention mower spindles.
John Deere OEM grease comes factory filled for all John Deere Equipment. Great for Tractors, Combines, construction equipment, forestry equipment, lawn and grounds care equipment, implements, trucks and autos. This is a very commonly used kind of grease for spindles of lawn mowers.
since I think any grease will work on lawn mower zerks, except for the spindles, I still remain curious as to the best grease for high speed bearings.
Would a wheel bearing be similar to a mower spindle?
A grease for a FEL pivot needs the extreme pressure rating, I don't. I'd think spindle grease would be as oil like as possible. ??
