Roy what about a nut splitter?
Good idea...I don't own one and based upon the ones I've seen (can't recall ever actually using one), don't think there's enough clearance between the nut and housing

59 right now and a much cooler day in the upper 60's today...

We received mail from the vet that came to the house for Bella last week. I thought I may have screwed up something when I'd written her a check...
Nope, it was a very sweet sympathy card...something I'll treasure and put it with Bella's collar and favorite squeaky toy. Damn sure brought the tears back...

Good Morning
65 going to 77 today with clear skies
Yesterday we got got about 1/2” of rain according to the Tempest, .35 according to the Davis.

Yesterday, I got one speaker shipped, another is close to that point, but I’m waiting for the drivers to arrive. It is getting harder to get parts and keep them in stock. Didn’t do much outside, it was pretty hot, and the humidity was climbing.

This morning I’m off to Marsh Harbour again, so that will kill the better part of the day.

Frist cup of coffee is cooling. 44° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 68° with a few clouds. .42" of rain yesterday. Had a good visit with my Aunt. She is doing good with her recovery. But still lots of pain. Some grocery shopping this morning. Then mow and trim grass.
Hawk is getting better at posing for camera.

Good morning, the sun is shining, a good day for preparing outside doors and testing some sample finishes. A clear wax oil looked good at first when the oak was new, however it soon weathers away on the sunny sides of the house.

Popgadget, 60" square is an interesting size for plywood. Most suppliers here sell birch ply in sheets of 8' x 4' or cut down to 4' x 2'.

Meant to attach this up close shot...View attachment 700021
Wng, are the fungi on Fork Mountain tasty ? :)

I can do HDPE pipe up to about 2” or so, forget the exact sizes, but don’t know how you would do flat edges together
Thanks for the feedback. I have seen flat sheets bevelled and butted together, then joined with a fillet using a hot air gun with a special nozzle to feed in the plastic rod.

Is that a star?

The surrounding "stars" reminded me more of dandruff. :giggle:

Good morning, low 38 and high will be 52°F. Wind N 8 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

DIL has a room at the hospice, but needs a negative test before they will admit her. This I don't understand, she has already had a covid poke and got it a week before I got mine. Junior is not happy, he wants her at home, but I support her feelings on the matter. It is about her needs and wants at this stage of the game, not his.
He is acting exactly the way that my blind grandfather did, he let his wife suffer for 4 years in hospital steadily going downhill with cancer, until she finally died.

I've still gotten no word on when my truck will be ready, but at this stage of the game I don't really care. I can survive without the added income, but I would do better with it.

Yes, the hawk is getting more used to you taking his picture.

I don't know what I will get into today, but it will be something.

Have a safe day all

Eric, maybe you need a 'narrow boat' scaled down? Or one of these?

I started hiking Old Rag in the early 1980's. Always went up the east route and usually down the east route. Carried 3 children up on my back when each was about 2 yrs old. Used to be a spring ritual. Stopped doing it about 2005 or so.
Fond memories overtaken by too many people. Up to the early '90's parking was easy. Last few times had to "satellite" park.

At spots like this I would tie a rope around the young kids and let them walk near the edge.

Good memories.
Great photo and glad you have good memories. Tough hike. The park Service added a new parking area a few years ago.

68 going to 88...hit 94 here yesterday, I think a new record at the "official" airport weather station. No rain.

Eric, they looked tasty, like something to add to porridge. 😁 Good catch on the name of the mountain.

Took it easy yesterday, but did complete a take down and thorough cleaning of my coffee roaster.
