3 Point Hitch

I'm pretty new on here but I have a Mahindra 1635 HST with about 30 hours on it. The 3 point hitch just started leaking down yesterday with a bush hog on it. It's only a 5 foot bush hog and the lift worked perfect till yesterday. I had lifted the bush hog to back up and it dropped right down as soon as I took my hand off the lift handle. Don't know if something came off the assembly or what. it lifts fine and stays up as long as you apply some pressure to the lift handle. It's under warranty but if there's something simple that I'm missing I'd like to avoid loading it up and driving an hour and a half to get it looked at. Ideas would be appreciated.

Right behind your feet under the seat, there should be a round knob. As you're sitting in the seat, turn the knob to the left, and that might solve your problem. It's a variable valve adjustment for the hydraulics. You can adjust it for each 3-pt implement to prevent your implement from slamming down to the ground.

The other thing to check is the tension on your lift lever. There is an adj nut under the seat deck where the linkage is, to put tension on the lift lever. If it's too loose, it will move every time you hit a bump.

Thank you for the respsonse. I had already checked the round knob that adjusts the speed on the lift dropping. I hadn't checked on that nut that keeps tension on the lift lever. That sounds like a real possibility. I was looking for some kind of spring that came off the linkage or something but didn't see anything. Thanks again.

Does your tractor have draft control ? If so, maybe that lever is set wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Virginia Beach working and the tractor is in Lexington but I only have the one lift control lever on the tractor. I think draft control has a second lever that you set but I'm not sure.

Hey, wanted to say thank you. That nut on the linkage didn't look like it was loose but I tightened it maybe a quarter to half a turn anyway. That worked! Mower stays in place now. Again, appreciate it. Bill
