Looked more like precipitates than fungi mushrooms, you can find precipitates most anywhere if you look hard enough. Instead of using water as the primary precipitation solution, Mars with a 99% CO2 atmosphere, probably forms precipitates using CO2.

It's the season for those up here, yet I've never seen one. I have noted the "false morel" many times... I read conflicting reports about their edibility and don't care to find out the hard way.
