LS Tractor Oil, Gas, & Air Filter Information

I知 the guy who said the Wix WL7426. I searched for a long time and cross referenced the engines to another vehicle (in Korea). I first used the Wix 51516, but felt it was too small (less filtering material). I致e been happily using the WL7426 without issue on my XR4140HC. Just buy a few of them up front to save the hassle and extra shipping costs.

The WIX WL7426 did not fit my 2019 XR4150 HST. At first I thought I was just having trouble threading it on, or the one was damaged or something, so tried a second one, same result. The filter post, (or whatever you call it) looks to be a different diameter. Threaded the original back on no problem. If the WL7426 doesn't work, I guess that means the 51516 won't work as well? Anyone have a different filter number for a XR5150??

Thats weird. We have the exact same engine, with only a year difference. Mine is a 2018. The Wix WL7426 is a perfect match... well, almost. The Wix is a bit longer than the stock LS brand. Use calipers to measure the 'post' diameter and compare it to the filter. Also, look for damaged threads on both the post and the filter.

I figured it was just me being a little inept :duh:. The WL 7426 fit. It's overall diameter was about 1/4" more than the original and so it was up against the hydraulic line that runs just underneath it. Though it looked lined up it was obviously a hair off centered and therefore wasn't threading on to the post. Just had to force down the line a fraction of an inch and was able to thread it on. I guess I learned to not change the oil at dusk with no extra light, and trust your fellow LS owners! Thanks!

Just wanted to mention that when I changed the hydraulic and hydrostatic filters on my 2019 XR4150 I tried the shop vac trick and it worked great! I just used a funnel that I could get the shop vac hose into and had a buddy put the funnel into the fill hole and the vac hose into the funnel and had him hold everything tight. i lost maybe a 1/2 a cup of oil in the whole process.

They are all pretty universal, just pop it out, go to Napa and pick you poison on led, they are pretty much all the same, get the cheap ones, don't fall for fancy packaging or hype. Only 4 companies in china makes them and they are all the same.

Air - WIX 46489 and 46490
Oil - WIX WL7426
Fuel - WIX WF8395
Hydraulic - WIX 51551MP
HST - WIX 51715

It used to, then they took down all the LS oil filters.

This whole thread makes me wonder about how smart it is to buy or even think about buying an LS.

If you can't get filters, how easy is it gonna be to get other parts?

Found a filter for the LS Mtron engine on Amazon but details are nonexistent. Talked to a dealer about an LS XG3135 and the availability of filters and he said; quote: "I am not inclined to give out the information on filters at this time." Ergo, I was not inclined to continue my interest in LS Tractors.

This is customer support??

Cross referenced their part number with wix Catalogs and they identified it as an LS Tractor Engine Oil Filter with Wix part number 57000.

Word of caution..... Your specific tractor isn't listed on the dealer's "Will Fit" list but from 35HP up they all use the same basic engine. So unless there are space/fitment issues........???

I'm at a loss .. how you blame LS .. for problems on the WIX app .. or a non-responsive dealer?

The Wix WL7426 oil filter is the one I use.

I buy from Rock Auto
Wix WL7426 for engine oil filter
Wix 51715 for Hydraulic Oil filter
Wix WF8395 for fuel filter

If LS did deny warranty because using a after market filter or any other aftermarket part they would have to prove that it caused the problem as per Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.

I'm having trouble finding the right filters - the owners manual is useless, the filters have no writing on them, and the dealer is a 2 hour drive - one way. I have a MT342 HST - any help is appreciated. I do have a NAPA about 30 minutes away, so that's my target ...

I bought my oil filter from the dealer. Saving a few $$ is not worth the hassle.

I did my first oil change this weekend on the 4140. What a PITA. First issue, I use an oil extractor but the "split" design leaves about half of the oil in the other side of the oil pan. So i still have to drain the oil the old fashion way. Second, what engineering numbskull placed the oil filter where it is? Nearly impossible to get at it.

I am thinking about finding a way to relocate the oil filter. Does anyone know of a kit that does that?

Same with my LS240, the loader brackets make access to the oil filter much harder, and if you forget to raise the loader, the arms make it impossible to remove the radiator screen for cleaning.
