Does anyone know the difference difference between a Bush Hog RB60R and RB60S?

I’ve searched all over the internet and emailed Bush Hog but no response.

I sent an email to a major online tractor parts store and this was their response
"Typically R means Rear Discharge and S means Side Discharge in the equipment world"

I don't think I've ever seen a side discharge bush hog... anyone have any thoughts on this?

Frames, 3pt hitch, blade bar and gear boxes are the same according to the part list schematics for each

Yeah I agree, I looked over the part list schematics on Messicks and I could not find a difference. I was hoping it would be obvious but here I am, lol.

Thanks Darryle

I don't know the first thing about them.... so could it be a PTO speed thing? 540 vs 1,000?

That’s a good point Richard, I never thought of that...

I just checked and it looks like both models use a 21 tooth straight bevel gear connected to a 15 tooth pinion gear so I’m guessing they are meant to be spun at identical RPMs

Woods sold a Cadet 72 and 84 that the left side could be unbolted for side discharge.
My thought, there might be some change, that prompted a change from R to S in the model name?
Has Bush Hog responded? If they don't know, probably no good reason for the R or S.

Interesting, thanks for the info about the Woods Cadet.

Bush Hog never responded so I just sent them another email thru the contact us part of their website, hopefully they respond this time.
