River of no Return was on TV the other night; as chance would have it, I tuned in on about the last 5 minutes of the movie, so I had to watch it...to see the blood!

Our family went to see it in Enid when the movie came out in 1954. We sat through it, thought it was great. When the lights came on and people started exiting, my Mom says "Did you see the blood spurt out of his back when he got shot?"

Of course none of us did; so we sat through the movie again just to see the ending. This time we saw the blood spurt out of the gunshot wound; pretty graphic for that time. Funny what you remember...

Just finshed watching it. Hell or High Water, On Leftflicks

Man, I wish TEXAS would take over Canada. Wouldn't take more than a few good old boys.

I think it’s too cold in Canada for Texans!

Kinda like Dave Gardner said about Cuba...all it would take is the Mississippi National Guard and a couple of flat bed trucks.

Ah, come on guys. The Texas guard could get Canada neatly mopped up (including NWO traitors hanged) in a weekend and be back at their normal jobs, Monday morning

George Segal's passing reminded me of one of my favorite movies...
King Rat

Great P.O.W. camp WWII movie.

FWIW...When first the book and then the movie came out there was a lot of ill will towards James Clavell by the ex POW community...it seems that while Clavell was imprisoned by the Japanese (not like in his works of fiction) he always seemed to have fresh tobacco and things like razors and sugar etc., etc...so he would know something about being a rat...!

Let me recommend an old movie that I think is excellent. It's entitled "They Might be Giants". it stars George C. Scott and Joanne Woodward. He is an ex judge who believes he is Sherlock Holmes; Joanne is his doctor, whose name just happens to be Dr. Watson. It is the kind of movie that you need to pay attention to, but I don't think any movie has captured my complete involvement like this one...and I loved the ending.
