River of no Return was on TV the other night; as chance would have it, I tuned in on about the last 5 minutes of the movie, so I had to watch it...to see the blood!
Our family went to see it in Enid when the movie came out in 1954. We sat through it, thought it was great. When the lights came on and people started exiting, my Mom says "Did you see the blood spurt out of his back when he got shot?"
Of course none of us did; so we sat through the movie again just to see the ending. This time we saw the blood spurt out of the gunshot wound; pretty graphic for that time. Funny what you remember...
