Good evening all. -4F for the start, overcast, light breeze. Sky cleared off for a while, wind picked up, and snow started about 5 PM 3-5 in forecast. High temp was 16F. Tomorrow will be warmer 34F warmer than this morning Power has been up and down all day fridge died during power up and downs. Have two calls out for someone to look at it no response yet. Cable out this morning. water died this morning. Worked on melting snow, filling wood wagon got milk and more sensitive stuff in cooler in garage. Lake has 1 inch ice , chipped through to get water for toilet flush Might get water back tomorrow . Fridge most likely has bad adaptive defrost control board issue. 300 dollars not available locally . Did not sleep well during nap :thumbdown:

Birs we have no water here. Tanks ran dry and water feed line and the wells froze up. Lake has 1 inch of ice over it.

My brother still in hospital. His son goes back to MI tomorrow.

My dad got his 2nd vaccine last week. They got bad ice, but he still has power.

25° , now calling for 10” snow starting tomorrow night.

Next week at work we get to show our customer that our product we built for them meets all their requirements. I just remembered I need to tweak a couple scripts.

The cold weather and snow has been keeping our COVID numbers down. Hospitalization rates are way down also.

Wife and I have lived North, South, in between, a couple non US locations, but I can’t begin to tell you how many times we will watch the news or talk to someone and one of us will say how glad we live where we do. Not perfect for sure, but it sure suits us.

Very interesting to read the comments re services. My heart goes out to those having to endure.

When I was a kid, living in the house my dad built, the house would frequently boom at night in temps below zero. The house was oriented so that in summer, the sun didn't shine into the house, but in winter, it would blaze straight in at sunrise and hit a large brick wall inside the floor-to-ceiling glass dining room and living room. We had a cantilevered hearth in front of the fireplace. As little kids, we'd sit on blankets facing the fireplace with our feet under the hearth and a bowl of hot oatmeal, raisins and brown sugar on the hearth in front of us, fire blazing away, cold feet under the hearth and burning faces above. Great memories.

Got new prescription, glasses on order from Walmart. First time using AetnaVision. Decided to get insurance this year knowing I’d be needing a new pair and suspect Sophie will be back into glasses or contacts once her cataract issues are cleared up. She’d worn both since a child but got the Lazik treatment about 20 years ago. Don’t think she is looking forward going back.

14 right now...high in the low 20's today.

It was hard to tell exactly what the accumulation was...when I looked out at 0315 yesterday, the Tacoma appeared to have about 3-4 inches on it, but later (after the sleet/freezing rain started), the snow compacted down considerably. Walking out to clear the snow...maybe 2-3 inches Anyway, that job is done until Friday

21 now highs in the upper 20’s and sunny today. Winds 10-20 today.

Yesterday the temps were above freezing by noon so all the sleet and ice melted.
We’ll see what Friday brings for snow.

Mostly- sorry you lost fridge, the power surges can sure kill electrical components.

heavy snow coming in after dinner, and 6 inches predicted through the night and all day tomorrow.
Wintry for sure.

Making full pot of coffee today. -16° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 23° with partly cloudy skies. Got my drive and walkways cleared of snow. Then 4 neighbors needed help clearing their snow. Turned that part of project over to Dr neighbor. He was all smiles. One neighbor was clearing his 400' drive by hand. Bet he will be looking for something Orange to get the job done soon. I still need to do some cleanup of my drive. Some of the drifts were 3'. But I can get in and out. Never made it to photo scanning. It will be on the list today. After working my taxes.
Wow! How deep is the snow?

Mostly, sorry about fridge. I be there are going to be a lot of them in TX from all the off and on power.

Kyle, good part of recovery is doing happy things. But do not over do it. Good picture of son riding in snow.

Rick, every time I see you Side By Side. It makes me think I should look into one to replace my Golf Cart. A Mule SX should fit my needs. But it must have a windshield.

LS, finding one place to live year round in mainland USA would be difficult when weather is one of the main concerns. Having traveled for many years during the winter. I like my trips to south Texas and AZ. But the summer months could be brutal. Today one of my major concerns with a place to live is access to medical care. Looks like I found the right place 50 years ago. I try to only make appointments with Dr's that are within 10 miles of my house. Glad you are getting off meds.

Good morning! 0 now, supposed to make it to 23 today. Snow in the forecast for tomorrow. 10 day forecast has some temperatures near 40.

rs - Betsy Kling is still on Cleveland TV? I watch 8, they seem to have decent weather forecast in the morning. And Melissa Mack in the evenings.....she gets into the weather forecast....quite entertaining.

Cleared the sidewalk with the shovel last evening. Didn稚 bother with anything else. It is crunchy when walking around with the snow over the ice. With the forecast, a lot will be gone next week.

Phones have been quiet at work...other than calls about auction machines :thumbdown: Billy Bob buys an auction special for just over scrap value, then wants tech help to fix it for free because they can稚 afford new parts that may not even be available anymore. And usually the machine is so old, no one was around when it was new, or in my case, have forgotten how it functioned. What a PIA.

Covid cases are way down locally and in the state.

Sounds like we are gonna gain a couple of emus for the flock. Wife has found someone locally that has a breeding pair and is likely gonna get some eggs to hatch. This should be interesting. Wonder how Oscar the Friendly Goose will handle competition?

Everyone that is dealing with power and heat issues, you are in my thoughts.

That second thing in Texas is headed our way but the models do not have a handle on it yet. Huge ice storm 3/4 in to 4 inches of sleet to 3 in of snow only the shadow knows

Did not get to saw up trees yesterday too wet for tractor our forest looks like a war zone

25 outside heading to upper 30's. It was a mud festival yesterday moving stuff around. Wife has new boarders showing up today, so I need to get another 500 feet of temp fence up. I hope the ground cooperates. LOL. I thought I was done with fencing, guess not.

ronjhall - Neat pic. I can recall deep snow here a few times many, many years ago. Drifts of six feet against the barn doors. I recall having to shovel my way to the tractor shed. LOL.
I'd rather have snow than ice. And the weather people are freaking out about another storm moving in with major ice tomorrow. So today, I will fill up the gasoline containers and load up on cheap canned foods. Stews and anything that can be heated over the wood stove.

Hope all are dealing with their weather issues in a good way. Stay positive.

Good Morning
21 with a high of 30 and clear skies. Snow overnight and tomorrow.
Yesterday actually got up to 50 with sunshine. Then the cold winds blew in.

Yesterday’s move went well, got a little speaker work done as well

This morning I’m off to Ft Meyers via Atlanta, good news is I’ll be back in Philly before the snow. Bad news is head wind over 100 KTS to Atlanta. Only about 30 going to Ft Meyers, and hopefully 70 or so tailwind heading north to Philly.

Good morning. 34 here in the Pee Dee area of SC. Beautiful day yesterday and supposed to be nice today. Rain starts up again tomorrow. Just in time because I saw a spot in the yard not covered with water yesterday. Just thought I would post up pics of the first of the 2 140s. I'm still convinced I got the best of that deal.
