I bought a fenix pd35 last year and love it. Rechargeable, small and 960 lumens when you need it:) oh and will also run up to 150 hours on eco mode. I love this light!

Game Winner Rechargeable LED Spotlight | Academy

Our go to flashlight is a LED rechargeable spotlight that we keep next to the door, plugged in, ready to go. It's got tons of power and we're able to see across the pasture with when the dogs get excited about something. It's also good for shining through the window to see what's going on with the dogs when they start to bark at something, but we don't want to put on shoes and go check because so often they are just rough housing. My previous one cost about twice what this one did and it worked good, but the cat knocked it off the counter and busted it. I went with this one because of how heavy it was. My thinking was that for a battery to last and have plenty of power, it needs to be heavy. It's about two years old now and it works flawlessly!!!!

Man yours must be doing better than most of those reviews at Academy because the reviews suck.

I have one too, and it's bright enough for me to be able to stand in my back yard, and I can light up my neighbors trees in his backyard, about 500 feet away!..

I've been reading about all these large heavy mag lights and these D batteries that cost over $1 each and last a couple of hours and I'm thinking how antiquated these all are.

I have several modern 1000 lumen led flashlights that I bought on Amazon when they were on sale for about $5 each. I put one in the glove compartment of every car and truck, on my tractor, in my barn, by my bed, in the closet, etc.'

These are way smaller than a 2 D cell mag lite, way lighter, way cheaper, way brighter and they last a lot longer without the battery going dead while laid up. Many police departments are using these now because they are so bright they can temporarily blind someone and are light and easy to carry. Most of them have high, low and strobe features.

They use one 18650 battery that is rechargeable. I have never seen a better flashlight battery. They are larger than AA batteries but smaller than C batteries. They last for years. I have only had them for 3 years now and they are all still just like new. I get the chargers for about $2.50 each and I found the 5000 mAh batteries on sale on Amazon for 10 for $15. Do not buy the cheap 2000 or 3000 mAh batteries.

Why spend $50 or $100 for a flashlight that isn't as good as these when you can get 10 of these with 5 chargers and 10 batteries for about $80?
Check out this one, 2000 lumens for $6.24 and free shipping. (Prices vary often) Order your charger and battery from other places on Amazon.

just keep spare li 18650 batteries charged up and good to go

Nice strong aluminum body and about $15 for 2

Basically different branding than the Bell & Howell Taclight that was on the TV ads

Cree XML T6 LED arrays seems to be the key also 6000 mAh LI's

1000-1600 lumens on high

I have several surefire flashlights and like them a lot. Lately I am using LED Lenser headlight when walking the dog at night. It throws a lot of light in a big circle and recharge battery last a long time. It has a dimmer to adjust to any output you prefer

I LIKE that. FINALLY a flashlight that doesn't use stupid, low capacity AAA cells. I hope cosco Canada has those. Have about 8 of the Duracell lights from Cosco that use AAA cells and all experience battery contact issues. Like back to shaking and hitting an .89 cent plastic flashlight of yesteryear. When they work, they work great.

I just got a sofirn sp31 v2.0, it uses an 18650 cell. I'm impressed so far, hopefully it lasts. I too have had a bunch of AA cell lights (14500 too), this definitely out lasts those. (I do like the little nicron n7)

I need a new flashlight for around the homestead. My trusty streamlight has finally seen better days and is ready for retirement (plus I want a new badass flashlight:thumbsup: anyway)

I think I'd prefer one that's not rechargeable, unless someone says otherwise. I've been looking at Zebra Lights, a bunch of hunting buddies have had great luck with them.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Like to keep it under $100, preferably under $75

Best is an LED one for PC, DeWalt, etc.

Didn't read the entire thread but I hope he found one over the last 6 years.

For everyday use (limited time) I've got my cell phone. Other uses where I need more light (either more lumens, longer time or both) I rely on a collection of DeWalt 20V max torches, I've got 3 DCL043's, two DCL044's, 2 DCL050's. They accept ALL my 30v Max batteries from a 2AH to a 12AH. And I always have fresh batteries because I'm invested in about $2,000 or so of DeWalt 20v MAX and FlexVolt tools. All the flashlights were well under $75@ bought on sale.

Still have my 30 year old Makita 9 volt that has crawled through a lot of basements...

Both of my Costco twin packs died... The button in the base took a dump... otherwise I like the light.

Grandpa's old 6v sportsman is still alive... must be 70 years old with sealed beam...

Duracell 700. Best flashlight I've ever owned. Bought in a two pack at Cosco for less than $20.

I might try to find a 1000 to try.

Mine are going on 4 years old and have the original Duracell batteries that came with them. Granted I don't use them on a daily basis but they are holding up great.

I can't understand why some people will pay so much for a flashlight or have one that does not use rechargeable batteries. I have used these Ultrafire flashlights with 18650 batteries for over 10 years and never had one break. They can sit unused in your glove compartment for over a year without discharging. How many times have you needed a flashlight with regular batteries in it and found it non-working with corroded batteries in it?

I have bought about 50 of these over the years and have one in every car, truck, tractor, golf cart, garage, barn, bedroom, hall, kitchen etc. I give them as great birthday and Christmas presents, especially to kids who love them as they are practically unbreakable. They shine as bright as the $75 flashlights. I just buy the Ultrafire batteries and extra chargers when I give them as gifts.

If you check around on eBay you can usually get these flashlights for about $4 each and batteries and chargers for about $2 each. One 18650 battery will easily outlast and outshine 12 AA batteries when used in these lights.

I have a LUMINRG flashlight from Amazon. It is possibly the best flashlight I have owned. It is rechargeable, but, for me, it goes a week or more without needing charged. The cost was less than $10, as I recall.
