I waited almost 6 months for the controls for a rear remote. They sent the wrong door in the right box to my dealer and the correct one took another month.

The rear remote thing was before covid was even invented.

On the other hand, I've had a few smaller things be in stock or pretty much overnight, but now that I think about it, those were things 3rd parties made and branded for them.

I really enjoy my tractor, but I accepted I wasn't going to get the best of the best where service was involved when I bought, and it isn't always the dealers fault.

P.S. I've waited months for land pride attachments, and some never came.

Noticed you have a 2638 in your profile - do you still own the 2638? If so does it have the rear mounted fuel tank?

Thanks,

Chris

Quick update - dealership did respond to the email. They ordered the tank Monday of last week and are awaiting it's arrival. If I don't have arrival confirmation sometime this week I'll ask for a shipping / tracking number. I can't continue to allow this to draw out much longer - it will need expert representation soon so that it doesn't appear I dropped the ball and accepted the outcome...

Quick update - have not heard from the dealership as of yet so I emailed again requesting an update. I called Mahindra customer service and basically was told to work through the dealership so I'm not sure why they maintain a customer service department. I''ll give until COB today for an update. I can assure everyone this is the first and last Mahindra product I will purchase.

You may have this in your plan, I would CC: every state and federal agency imaginable documenting your case (in writing) and make sure Mahindra knows it. The squeaky wheel. Maybe use certified mail.

It's all email so I have a complete trail if needed...and if any usps letters com into play I'll certify mail them.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

What was it about this Make and Model of tractor that led you to purchase from dealer located 10 hours away? Was it price, features, prior experience, recommended by someone, . . . .

No - as I've mentioned before they were the only dealer at the time (unless I went to TX) who had the model. This model has the engine and PTO hp to make it a suitable match for my needs.

Yep...you can request the tracking number from the dealer. It's your fuel tank, and it makes good customer care to keep you informed. I can't see any logic in the dealer saying no.

Yesterday afternoon I did receive calls from the parts person at the dealership. Provided an update in regards to the tank and other parts on order. Hopefully the tank will arrive soon. I did ask that they reach out to Mahindra in regards to the failure rate concerning this fuel tank design. Mahindra was elusive and wouldn't directly answer the question - leaves a lot to be desired (don't even get me started in regards to Mahindra's customer service line). If Mahindra won't answer a simple question to help quantify mounting options - I believe this will be the last Mahindra product I purchase. I plan on mounting the tank with straps and to not use their design of mounting the tank with bolts to the rear of the tractor in an effort to try to prevent future occurrences. If they don't request to take possession of the original cracked tank I plan on plastic welding it for a backup should I need a replacement. Yesterday I created a case with the EPA in regards to this issue so now two Governmental agencies have the information. Not sure what good it will do to help push Mahindra to redesign this mess however it's worth a try.
