2 weeks ago I filled a 12 by 72 heavy wall steel pipe with concrete which will be used as a lawn roller.
It is open on 1 end and filled with 8 bags of redimix.
I used approximately 7 gallons of water in the mix.
When will it be safe to put outside in single digit temperatures and not worry about it freezing and splitting open.

Here is a general rule of thumb:
All concrete must be protected from freezing until it has reached a minimum strength of 500 pounds per square inch (psi), which typically happens within the first 24 hours.
If I am understanding you correctly, you are way beyond 24 hours and should be fine

Absolutely true, and 75% strength after 7 days.
Quite savvy, for a tall grass cutter kinda guy!

I've found people on this forum to be more knowledgable than what first appears, so I'd be careful at dismissing information out-of-hand. But, you've been on the forum long enough to know that so I don't understand your comment.

Its fine. He is referring to somewhat of an inside joke. Another TBN member constantly refers to me as some guy who cuts grass, when in fact I own 3 businesses; Construction, Farming and property maintenance. The later is the reason he calls me some guy who cuts grass.

I am amazed at how long it takes concrete to set up in the cold. Sometimes I swore it would never harden! So you need to extend the time for the concrete to set up and then still give it more time before freezing. I was taught, never to let the contractor add calcium in cold weather.

Calcium is hard on steel, but fine in concrete
