They are very upfront about NOT having financial difficulties. It is 100% about ducking the NY AG's lawsuit which they obviously are very much afraid of.

Those conspiracy strategies really seems to resonate with some. Watched my tax guy of several decades (CPA) slowly became radicalized- started hanging self defense related posters in his office, carried at work (small rural town), bragged about overcharging certain types of people, and bet me $20 that Obama would confiscate my bank accounts before the end of that year. He put me on his like-minded email list by mistake once and the stuff those guys were revving each other up about was an art form.
