This for sure is my problem also - only I'm into trifocals now because my old eyes refuse to focus at all. Even so, I really can't clearly see what my weld is doing...seems like anymore I weld more by the sound and by experience. The Golden Years!

IF anybody makes one of these----- be sure you can lock the lift arms down!!!!! --- good way to kill yourself with a set-up like this if you dont lock stuff down! ---- Be safe out there and good luck on your builds!

I can relate as I do not weld very often and also wear trifocals. One problem with see that I discovered quite by accident from a friend that welds frequently was my mask had too dark a plate installed for welding heat. 1 shade lighter and I could see my welds while I thought it was my eye sight going.
There are charts available to match the shade number to the amperage you are welding at.

i've got one of the fancy wide view big screen auto darkening hoods that is adjustable for the shade I want or need,
it's got several years on it now. Seems to go thru batteries faster then it used to.

Thought I'd just add the companion to my rear hitch,
the SSQA plate with a quick hitch and a receiver hitch.
I just added the receiver this week and painted it.

nice work and heavy duty! For my light duty application, moving empty trailers from storage location to driveway, I bought a pre-fabbed one on amazon, under $100.
