Good morning. The kitchen range is fired up and so am I, set to try something that is second nature to many of you, yet something I haven't done in well over 50 years - bake bread. This is an ideal day to have a go, partially because heavy rain is coming, but mostly because my wife will be shopping tomorrow, so we won't starve for too long if it goes badly :)

Vaccination against Covid-19 has started in the UK today. Health workers, people over 80 and care home workers are the first to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech product. A second jab after 3 weeks is then needed before they can start to develop maximum immunity. It is expected to be many months yet before this and the other vaccines that are in the pipeline can be rolled out to everyone, but at least this is the first small step and gives hope to everyone.

So I guess Queen E and Phlip will be the first to get the jab?

Good morning, the temperature is a balmy 4°F and going to a high of 28. Wind SSW 3 mph.A mix of sun and cloud.

The trip to get the rock bucket went off without a hitch. A guy that passed me on the way down, passed me like I was up on jacks. I was doing 75 mph in a 55 zone and this white car went zooming past me. About 20 miles down the road he ran smack dab into a radar trap. When I passed him and the cop the string of cars I was in slowed to 70 and moved over the required one lane and whistled on through.

The trip back up here took a little longer, slower up the hills. I think she needs a new(er) set of plugs.
The trip cost me 100L of gas at 0.949/L. So to translate that into US gallons we divide the 100 by 3.78 = 26.455 gallons. It all works out to $3.587/US gallon in Canadian money.

I was on the dealers' land for about 15 minutes, 5 of that was strapping the bucket down with my Erricson ratchet strap rated for 1650 lbs. The bucket only weighs in at 590 lbs. Legally it should have had two straps, but it was more or less in my Army trailer, 18 inch sides and ends. The bucket was in there at an angle still on its' skid. It wasn't going anywhere I didn't want it, but it had to look legal. It must have looked okay, a cop passed me and didn't even blink.

Todays' chore is take the Dodge to town and get it serviced.

Have a safe day all

good morning all. 33 going up to 39 today in sunshine.

welcome back Rick, glad you got your place sold, sorry you had creeps for buyers like I did, sure sounds familiar.

Eric, glad your vaccinations are starting. God (and vaccines) Save The Queen!

headed off to local hospital this morning to get some simple blood lab tests, then back home to make some sawdust.
And hopefully an apple crisp or something with apples, mangoes and perhaps some berries thrown in.

Drew .. that heater is not intended for "unvented" spaces. It's for "outdoor spaces. I've got two of them.

agreed, my garage door has a two inch gap on the bottom on one side, and I open a window several inches to get some cross ventilation.
Plus I installed a CO2 alarm in garage. I also open the garage door every hour or so to get a big dose of fresh air in there. Building is uninsulated and leaks
like a sieve...

It's getting colder out these days. 34 heading to upper 40's.

More digging on the septic systems today. They are still looking at how it was put in, and where it all goes. Lots of trees over on that side of the house.

More hits on the $$$. Need to help out eldest who had a seriously bad dental experience. Poor genetics on bones and lots of pain killers over her life have wrecked her teeth.

I worked with one of Chuck Yeagers flight chiefs a long while ago. That right stuff sure was ingrained in a lot of people.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Stay healthy my friends.
