im only 1/2 done insulating the walls. ill be working on the rest next summer. need to move stuff outside to proceed.
That big sales pitch about LEDs lasting forever is bogus when they drive them so hard to be bright. Same fairytale holds true for household florescent lights. 'they cost more but last 10 times longer.... NOT.
maybe i spoke too soon about the Whelen light. i removed it to send it back to factory in Connecticut, as they emailed me back that they could fix it. just for the heck of it i opened it up to see if i could find out what was wrong. i found this
it was obviously not soldered on correctly, so i thought what the heck, lets fix it. i am not the best with small electronics, but i do own a soldering iron. i repaired it and what do you know, it works again. bright as ever.
while it shouldnt have popped off like that, at least im not out a bunch of money for shipping, return shipping and repairs. it had a 5 year warranty, and thats ended awhile ago.
A light fixture that will see all the vibration of an automobile probably should not have Surface Mount Connectors on it. I designed PCBs for 30 years. Started years before computers.. CAD/CAM
