Good morning all

32 now high around 40 with some sun early and showers later this afternoon. We got a little more than an inch of rain the other day, every little bit helps.

Got some sad news yesterday, BIL passed Monday morning after a stroke. I’m going to miss him dearly we were close.

No plans for today just putter around may take the loader off and put the plow on just in case!

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Condolences on BIL passing...

Drinking first cup of coffee. 36ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44ー with sunny skies. New valve is in furnace. Working good. Did some cleanup in cellar. Not sure what I will get done today. Just remembered I have the tool stand that I bought to assemble.

Sounds like a plan ... ;)

Doves are trying to stay warm.

Just beautiful.

RS, I did 3 different tile jobs a few years ago. Bought a tile saw to do that project. When done gave it to my son.

And he gave you the Mavic Air 2 ... I think you probably made out on that deal ... probably in more ways than one ... ;)

BTW - What brand/model/etc. tile saw ?

You about as much snow as I did.

I was thinking that might be the case. We were lucky ... they got hammered pretty good up in the Lake Erie snowbelt ... power was still out in some places this morning.

Great pictures.

Thanks.

I tiled two bathrooms, the kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and entry a few years ago, RS. Bought a bridge saw from HF, and followed a suggestion in the reviews to put the pump in a bucket of clean water instead of the tray where all the cutting debris collects. Worked like a charm and the saw still works good as new.

You guys are killing me here ...

I think it's on its third blade, and I won't be buying any more blades from HF as they're not very round and tend to leave a wavy edge. Very happy with the diamond blade from Bosch.

Good to know ...

Treat yourself to a pair of good knee pads, the kind with wide straps above and below the knee. I used a cheap pair that had just one strap and still have nerve damage in my lower legs.

Yeah ... I had what seemed like a nice pair of QEP's on the list ($35) - the ones with gel inserts - and they got nixed by the CFO ... that kinda tells ya what I'm dealing with here ...

I have a fairly nice foam kneeling pad I picked up at Menards this past summer and a pair of decent kneepads (not anything fantastic by any means) ... I'll give those a shot and see how it goes. If those don't get it, I'll spring for something good.

Good luck with the decoupler.

Good morning all, 30 going up to 44, partly cloudy -ground is less spongy due to wind
Maybe time to put the lights up on the house. finished the ground based lights yesterday, and got our tree.

At least you'll have decent weather.

RS- like the tile picks ...

Thanks.

Here's the red tile I wanted to incorporate into the design but The Woman nixed - Giorbello Ruby Red - I think it's absolutely beautiful ... probably even better with black grout ... but it's her bathroom so her call:

I would have used it as an accent - maybe running one or two bands of it - immediately bordered in black tile above and below - all the way around the shower, halfway up the wall. Possibly something similar around the perimeter of the room on the floor as well.

Her thing was not so much that she didn't like it, but that it locks in the look of the room and makes it more difficult to change ... which is true.

But OTOH, the "look" of the room is kinda gonna be "locked in" to a certain extent anyways ...

It's pretty pricey tile compared to the rest of the tile I'm using for this project - close to $13 a sq. ft. ... versus a buck or two per sq. ft.

Interestingly enough, since the time I started looking at it (within the last few weeks) The Depot as announced a "Special Buy" on it and cut the price nearly in half ... and they don't actually stock it.

Makes ya wonder ...
