They don’t stick around long. As long as you’re not going straight from the splitter to the stove which you shouldn’t be anyway it’s fine.

If ants come in the house with wood in October then they have all winter to multiply, my wood is stored in basement til needed, this week is needed........

Your right how often do we really need lumber longer then 16'..........

Thats one reason I prefer cutting up wood in fall, ants are clump up in cold weather and easier to separate.

You need a pet aardvark, clean that right up.

If I can lift a bucket full of dirt then I figure the hydraulics are close to specs, anymore pressure I'd be afraid of snapping the front axle into, probably that 20' red oak would do if it was placed on my FEL forks. But like you said gear tractors has so much more power and traction it's much better to push heavy logs..........:cool2:

I think you do really well with an L3400 and its 1,142 lb lift to height. Not the biggest by any means but you sure get a lot done with it. Good machine for what you do.

But at 20 inches out from the pin (end of loader arms) it drops to 853 lbs.

To me, that chicken coop is not even in the realm of being realistic,, the time and $$$$ he spent does not make sense,,

Why would you build a coop that high? the chickens have no chance of staying warm, all the heat will escape up, or through the tall walls.

Here is the one I built in 2008, it is 10X12, and works perfectly,, no one ever has to walk in it,,I change the hay(grass clippings) in the box area twice a year.

This pic is right after I installed it,, the open area on the left is a sealed feed storage closet.
The "porch" area to the right has a floor of 2X4's as slats, with gaps,, it stays clean, just from the wind, and weather.
Some of the floor is wire, I found some 1/2" square opening stainless steel wire for the floor, if the galvanized ever rusts away.

I built my chicken coop in my shed, then took it out with the front end loader,,

There are not many nails in my shed,, it is welded together,, LOL!! :laughing:

The hardwood floor on the second level is assembled with flooring nails,, I almost forgot about those nails,,
The windows are screwed in,, again, no nails,, I am not good with nails,,
I bought a pneumatic nailer when I built the chicken coop,,
