Absolutely.

Okay. The "Happy 49'th, Terry backstory...

I didn't want to install bollards in front of the tank in case the fire Marshall made me move it farther from the building.

I had been hoping for years to find a broken or cracked highway median to use and of course I was way too cheap to buy a new one.

Sharon worked nights at the local neighborhood pub and she convinced one of the local road crews that frequented after work (their yard is minutes away from the farm) that a median would make a great birthday gift.

I was a little surprised to say the least when a crane mounted tractor trailer unit, arrived with a small flotilla of pickup trucks and flaggers to place a brand new concrete median in front of my tank.

Pretty much one of the most memorable birthdays ever.

THAT is a GREAT story !!!!
Thanks for sharing it!

Maybe not in fashion if you're the one caught wearing them in a boat or on a bridge....

I suppose I stand corrected. If you are caught wearing cement shoes you most likely have bigger problems than lack of fashion sense. LOL

If I'd ever really thought about it I'd have had an idea how heavy those "Jersey Barriers" are.

My brother-in-law owns a precast concrete company (in New Jersey, no less...) and does a lot of stuff for the GSP and NJT. A few years ago his/my nephew came up to get a counter top we had made for him and "traded" a Jersey Barrier for it. I think we got the better end of the bargain. Thankfully our bigger forklift has a 10,000# lift capacity...

I sold my baby (25 ton) Mubea iron worker today to a specialty custom design metal fab shop. Paid in full and will be picked up tomorrow.

Then I came in to make dinner and saw that someone had just listed this little Miller Thunderbolt buzz box for sale.

It was only 12 minutes away and $19 so I bought it.

All in all a pretty good day

For 19 bucks, is "still working" a requirement?

Tombstones and buzz boxes...interesting how welding has its own unique language...

Can't wait to see what it looks like after some "Terry magic" is applied to rehabilitate the little feller!

Got distracted or is shopping part of making dinner? So what you're saying is you're addicted to classifieds? :drink:
