Has anybody installed a rear camera on their 5600 toolcat? Any suggestions as to the best spot to mount it? I am debating between putting one up on the top of the back of the cab vs putting it low by the receiver hitch. Thanks.

I mounted mine to the frame with a strong magnet just to the drivers side of the hitch. Works well in that position.

I plan on mounting the monitor on top of the middle of the dash and the camera on the top, center of the cab. I need to see directly behind me as I back up in close quarters and I also need to see a distance behind me when I am on a public road and I think that high position will give me both.

Since I have a 5610 with good visibility close behind it, what will be the main use for the camera on your 5600?

Primarily for better visibility to avoid running into objects/people. My father-in-law will be using the TC frequently and doesn’t have very good mobility to turn around. Thought maybe adding a camera would give another small level of safety.

Any back up camera system should work for that.

For other uses consider the camera field of view:

Regarding uses for the backup camera on a 5600...4 situations: A high load in the bed can block view from rear window. Backing up with the dump bed raised.. Viewing a low pull-behind implement. Acting as a rear view mirror while on a public road to avoid having to turn around frequently to look out the back window. I'm sure there are others but these are the situations where I have found a back-up camera useful.

Albert,

Any problems with the camera getting covered in snow/mud with it mounted by the receiver hitch?

I would like 2 cameras, one to view the 3pt and its indicator for height and the other would be a right/front view to watch the right side of the front finish mower. When mowing, the lift arm blocks the view to the right side. The 3pt has no position control stop so you have to see the indicator or use stop chains.

Bison TC,
No problems so far with camera in that position.
