Do you enjoy your job?

I had a great job once. Over time the folk I dealt with were retrained and attitudes changed somewhat. New folk came in and saw things differently so expectations changed. In short my great job finished up as a job dealing with whiners and folk who couldn't be pleased by anyone. One day I went to work and was listening to 'crap' and I just got up and walked into my bosses office and said "I'm going home and I won't be back".
I never went back to that place after more than 21 years. If I had stayed there I probably would not have survived as 4 of my associates had heart attacks and died soon after I left. 4 of them. All top blokes and hard workers.
I have had 11 happy years of retirement so far, nearly 12. I walked when I was 61.

I've got a 70 year old sister that's been doing yoga, breathing, and swimming since she was a teenager.... she'd probably outlast any of you in an endurance contest, me included. And I've got another sister in her 60's that's also been doing yoga, breathing and she's a Tia Chi sword master. YIKES! Slice you up before you could blink.

Both of them are pretty darn calm, relaxed, and joyful in their lives. More than most folks.

I seek awareness and serenity through a clear mind. One can use exercise, tasks at hand, meditation or chemicals influencers. The goal is to find your mind, master that, everything else is secondary.

French Enlightenment and Descartes’s cogito ergo sum (I think, therefore, I am) and Maslow's hammer (When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail).

This is a part of my job that I do enjoy. We designed and printed and installed this film for the client. ..This type of work is one of the only parts of the business I still like.

Nice! I used to know a guy that built displays for trade shows. Didn't matter what your business was, he could build you a really outstanding and unique display, based on your design or he could do that for you as well. Many of the displays were portable, broke down for travel and easy setup and take-down. Really cool stuff.

So Moss you are the baby brother . . . and don't bring a sword to a gun fight. That is very impressive of your sisters though.

Sometimes a little wisdom comes with experience and this can be augmented by trusted advice from those that have been there and done that

Pleased to say TBN continues to be a source of such advice.

Also blessed with a few much older friends, although the number has been greatly reduced the last 10 years with age taking a toll.

One is an elderly Chinese friend, California born 95 years ago... typically a man of few words but vast experience in life and staying focused on the big picture.
