Tires Foam filled tires

Most of the small deck tires on my wing mower are foam filled. Did by the City that owned it before me. I appreciate them much, but they appear very spongy, but fine for this application. I could not see that density working in a load bearing tire. And indeed, they did not fill the main larger tires of the main machine.

I ask the the tractor place but they said no one in ME fills tires that they know of, I mean,,,,, really!!!!! What the heck is up with that and way over $300.00 for 2 small tires, why so much................

To get tries foam filled, find a local industrial tire supplier, specifically one that deal with forklift tires. Most shops only foam fill every 2-4 weeks, usually over a weekend. The foam requires a couple days to set. They will match the foam hardness to the recommended tire pressure. Shipping can get expensive, especially after they have been filled. In person deals can sometimes be a donation to their Christmas fund, if you call, they are going to quote retail.

My B20 tires foam filled flexed like the pneumatics. Absolutely loved them.

I got good advice from the Bobcat dealer owner for not getting hard foam and a quality installer. A similar dealer might help you.

On the newer B26 with the same size front tires but 50% higher lift FEL filled with Gempler’s bulletproof sealant. 4 years with lots of bucket and grapple work with no flats. If I had flat problems would go to foam again.

I guess there is a compromise. Few tractors have suspension so they require some squish in the tire. But that can vary a lot on front tires between a loader being loaded and not. Or even aloader itself being on or off the machine.

Seem so when I ask Union Farm Equipment about filling my tires with foam, if there was place they know of in ME that fills tires, I ask>> "you mean to tell me theres no place in ME that will fill tires with foam, none that we're aware of that why we send them out to MA....." By then I was getting upset after hearing all the talk about how foam filled tires are the dats meow, the bees knees,,, well if it is then why do I have ship tires out of state and cost me $320.00+ or is it just a ME issue.........

The place I went was 90 miles away and huge... 24 large motorhome service bays... onsite recapping, foam, and all manner of AG and Industrial equipment tire service and the guy was nice for a nobody one-time customer like me.

He said they foam golf carts and wheel barrow to graders.... Watched them do mine. Drilled holes in the sidewalk, "Branded" the sidewall saying Foam Filled and pumped in the hot foam.

I really thought I could take them but advised against as they really need to sit flat and undisturbed till cured

What do you mean when saying >>"they really need to sit flat", is that the whole wheel laying down flat on floor, horizontal?

That gets me wondering. So they aren't under pressure? Not with holes drilled in the sidewalls. Doesn't the pressure of a tire often seat it on the rim and balloon out the sidewalls to get the proper intended profile? And maybe even tread?

Flat with the inner sidewall on directional tires laying on flat concrete in the same spot where foam injected

One hole to inject and others to let hot foam extrude out... I believe there are more than one vent hole but don't hold me too it.

Even with small tires the increase in weight is very noticable
