The only concern I have is, is the bridge going to be wide enough, looks about 7', I'd want 9' minimum. The cinder block footings and telephone poles is a good way to go as long as the power company wont miss the poles. How come you have water in that brook, my brook has been bone dry for over a month, so dry the frogs don know where to go, it's great having a 7 year old gopher to help.......Who was it that made that nice bridge in the forest earlier this summer, Old Path, I think? I believe you asked to see pics of my own bridge plans also. Well I finally got around to getting started on mine recently. I'll use this bridge to get my tractor across my creek and be able to snag firewood from any deadfalls on the other side, and expand my trail network. Decking will be doubled-up treated 2x6s that were reclaimed from a big deck that was in fine shape; hope to get those on next weekend. Comments and suggestions welcome, though it ain't changing now, haha. My 7-year old Son has been learning a lot and become quite a useful helper.

That's a pretty nice bridge footing Deezler. How much span do you have there ? Looks like your fall foliage has barely started. Ours is almost over - very short lived this year.

I took the day off and worked between the rain drops, more like helped out. We got the first carrying beam glued screwed and bolted together, then we lifted it in position, wheres feather hydraulics when I need them.... Now the 100 dollar question will it stay up over winter......

Maybe he only takes them when he needs them, and puts them back before they notice the poles are missing?

Nice... Interesting scarf joint. What glue did you use?
I mention that to my son but he said that he already shovels the other roof after big snow, well he does need the exercise cause he dont saw shingles in winter...
He used Elmers wood glue, some lag screws with two 5/8 threaded rods, he said next beam the splice will be at other end. I was going to invent away to saw 24' on a 20' mill but it would require to much redneck engineering, not to mention a 24' log that will saw out a 6"x10", thats a big log that also requires lot more work, and then I might only have a couple trees left that size, but if this falls down..........
