Not true. 4570Man has found a pretty good niche doing that also, although lately he's been posting more about doing dirtwork.
Yeah your right I forgot about hydro man, he's been playing the dirt all summer, probably his chainsaw chain is all rusty by now.

You need to recalibrate your thumb on the screen. Maybe you pinched it working on the roof framing and now it is swelled up. It's about 4 cord each side, so IIRR that makes 8. It's 10 X 16, wood piled 7 plus feet high inside.

That old 346 XP might last longer than me. Can't kill it. I put a 16" bar on it and swapped out the original .050 300 pitch chain for a .058 3/8 chain. It's light, well balanced, and cuts like a charm. Why do I need a new one??

WOW 8 cord I must of used my left thumb on those 4 trash cans for a reference point, glad I had my fingers cross on that $100.00 bet.
16" bar make my back hurt, 18" fits me about right, how much the brake handle cost?

But they might give you $500.00 trade in on a new 550xp, although if you use some Super Clean on the ole saw it will look like new, I lost my 346xp in a fire 8 years ago so it was beyond cleaning...

I cut these over a month ago, too hot outside so I never finished, and this weekend wasn't terrible outside, but still too hot for firewood. I have a bunch of totes stored up for this winter, but I will still go take down a few standing dead, I figure I'll need come February.

Who was it that made that nice bridge in the forest earlier this summer, Old Path, I think? I believe you asked to see pics of my own bridge plans also. Well I finally got around to getting started on mine recently. I'll use this bridge to get my tractor across my creek and be able to snag firewood from any deadfalls on the other side, and expand my trail network. Decking will be doubled-up treated 2x6s that were reclaimed from a big deck that was in fine shape; hope to get those on next weekend. Comments and suggestions welcome, though it ain't changing now, haha. My 7-year old Son has been learning a lot and become quite a useful helper.

I generally burn only oak, maple, ash, etc. but I've been taking some old pines down and will add those to the firewood pile. The previous owner of my property planted a lot of pines with about 4 foot spacing. Probably looked good when they were 10 feet tall. Now they are 75 feet tall and most of the lower branches are dead. Over the next few years I will probably take down 20 or 30 of these junk trees.

We call that chip and saw down here. A lot of good lumber for the mills. Might be able to market it for poles.

Good point, but this will go towards the 2021 firewood supply. The trunks are up off the ground and may become saw logs, they are red oak, so not really great for exterior wood, but I also don't have a mill, so who knows.

In our area, there aren't enough pines in one area to interest anyone for lumber. The few small sawmills do hardwood.

What species of pine are those? I saw almost all pine here, great construction lumber.

Actually, I don't even know. Most of the evergreens we have here were planted as windbreaks or landscape backgrounds. Douglas Fir, White Pine, Red Pine generally. I think we're too far north for yellow pine.
