I confess it was me but dont tell anyone. I think your the only one who gets firewood but never cuts a tree down whats up with that..........

Not true. 4570Man has found a pretty good niche doing that also, although lately he's been posting more about doing dirtwork.

I try to avoid cutting firewood when it’s hot.

Who says no one is cutting and splitting firewood?

I did some white oak today, and split a cord and a half of these big blocks,

and moved the three boxes,

Into line with the rest of the boxes,

I like your bins. Have you tried stacking them? Look like about 1/2 cord?

Enjoy seeing how others process firewood.

Oh great got he ole saw going and I thought you was going to trade it in towards 550xp. My wife is a canner and fills the freezer with to much of everything else.
Nice wood shed, I want to guess 4 cord fills it.

You need to recalibrate your thumb on the screen. Maybe you pinched it working on the roof framing and now it is swelled up. It's about 4 cord each side, so IIRR that makes 8. It's 10 X 16, wood piled 7 plus feet high inside.

That old 346 XP might last longer than me. Can't kill it. I put a 16" bar on it and swapped out the original .050 300 pitch chain for a .058 3/8 chain. It's light, well balanced, and cuts like a charm. Why do I need a new one??

I cut these over a month ago, too hot outside so I never finished, and this weekend wasn't terrible outside, but still too hot for firewood. I have a bunch of totes stored up for this winter, but I will still go take down a few standing dead, I figure I'll need come February.

I also rented one of these to do some work at my MIL's house, and figured I'd try it on some light logging at home. It worked pretty well, but would need a bigger one to make it worthwhile. And with a top speed of 1.5mph, not exactly something you'd drive to the wood. It had a thumb, so it was great for muscleing the logs around.

I generally burn only oak, maple, ash, etc. but I've been taking some old pines down and will add those to the firewood pile. The previous owner of my property planted a lot of pines with about 4 foot spacing. Probably looked good when they were 10 feet tall. Now they are 75 feet tall and most of the lower branches are dead. Over the next few years I will probably take down 20 or 30 of these junk trees.

They are half cord and although I could stack them, I never do as I have plenty of room to sit them on the ground. I build them out of what ever log or lumber I have around,
