I want to add an aux cooler to my L4330 tractor with the V2203-MA-E-GST engine.

I *assume* that the cab version of this tractor has a cab heater and I further *assume* that the heater uses engine coolant to provide the heat, just like any other vehicle on the road.

But, for the life of me, I can't find the heater coolant ports on the engine that would provide the coolant. I did find parts diagram #N11500 Heater Hose (Cab Type) on the Messicks site, but I can't make heards or tails of it other than the heater hose(s) are +$150.

Has anyone done this before? Anyone here have the cab version of this tractor and could look and tell me where the dang ports are?

Has anyone ever added a coolant aux cooler to their tractor? If so, how did you connect to the coolant system?

I have a coolant hose leak right now, so the tractor is going to be down until the radiator hoses arrive. I thought I'd do this mod while I'm waiting for hoses.

The aux cooler I'll be using is the Hayden 457 oil cooler. I've had this since around 1986 or so and it's been on several vehicles, usually as an oil or tranny fluid cooler. It's last use was for a wort cooler for when I brewed beer back in the early 2010s. Hayden Fluid Coolers 457 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

No one's done it, nobody knows or no one cares?

Interesting project. Looks like a nipple is put in the top of the water pump and the other one needs to come back through a CAB type thermostat housing.

The flow will be out from the thermostat housing nipple and back into the water pump.

Where are you going to locate the additional cooler?

In front of the existing rad will just decrease the performance of the rad by feeding the rad with hot air from the cooler.

What tasks are you doing that you need extra cooling?

If I decide to add a small ball valve, which end would you put it on?

And thanks for telling me that. Don't know how it affects the cooling, if any, but I appreciate it.

The same place where Kubota puts the HST hydraulic oil cooler: right in front of the OEM radiator. There's already brackets and mounting holes all ready to go. Plenty of space for the 457 as well.

Your first statement makes no sense: Hayden et al have been recommending aux coolers in front of OEM radiators since at least the late 70's; when I first installed an aux cooler.

Bushhogging. It's a PITA having to stop every 30-45 minutes to get the crap out of the radiator so the engine doesn't overheat. Never mind the fact that I have to do it in the field - with no locks for the FEL.

Agree with excessive plugging with some mowing. I'd put the
Valve on the pressure side - thermostat housing.
