Mornin Y'all!

As is ususal, I've got a bit of Chaos in my life. The buyers for my rental at a very late stage have bailed out of the contract leaving me only with legal options.

David, can't the buyers bail out anytime before closing losing only the earnest money. What other type of legal actions can be imposed on them? The earnest money should be held by the Title company and be released to you. You should not have to pay a lawyer to obtain it.

nice dog pictures guys, some well loved pets here

long day at hospital, in at 6:45am out by 5:30pm and I'm whupped.
But a good day...PET scan came back fine, no spread and further shrinkage of core area, oncologist was pleased.
Bit of a sinus headache from one of the drugs, told that was normal and my tinnitus has amped up again, but all manageable.

interesting email from close friend's brother who is senior trainer for B-52's at Barksdale air force base in Louisiana. First they were going to sit it out,
now they made decisions to move all the B-52's to a safer location. Apparently they don't like the looks of what is headed their way and those planes, despite
being ancient, are very very expensive. Plus I'm guessing there are some nukes stored on that base and sure don't want them washing away...

So glad to hear of your good news.

I remember when the storm hit Pensacola and there were some F-22's left behind because they weren't flight ready. I truly hope some stripes were taken off of some officers' rank for not getting them on a truck out of town. Oh that made me mad.

Good evening all. 75F for the start, partly cloudy sky, calm wind. Light wind most of day, had a gust front come though, not enough rain to call it a trace do far. Sky did cloudy up and 2 lines of thunder storms were going to come through, but fell apart both times. High temp for day was 92F, feels like 100F, humidity back :(. Family circus started the day at 4:30AM, Men's meeting, bike ride then big nap.

up in middle of night to take some tylenol for headache
Drew good news from hospital, how long before tinnitus settles back down?
interesting fact I learned this time, positive effects of chemo and also concurrent negative side effects peak at ten days after infusion.
Was told the headache came from one drug, foot nueropathy(tingly and feel warm) from another and I'm sure hair loss from all of it.
Hair loss is supposed to stop one month after last infusion and start coming back, maybe.
Have no idea on tinnitus, they simply don't have any cures for it; I start prednisone today for five days and that may help a little
I need to remember to put noise cancelling headphones in car, even road noise in a fairly quiet car is unpleasant.

Kyle, was told the B52's that could not fly were at least being put into hangars. Question is how will the hangar do...
My friend's brother down there is seriously worried about his new roof on home. I hope he has a backup gen.

that Tempest weather station still up..wind is picking up...
Wind (mph)
83 NNE
Gusting
98 mph

I知 considering doing some hardwood flooring. Would like to see pics of the install. Will they transition at doorways, or keep running into other rooms?

We put tiles in the hallway a few years ago so they will be doing a transition. When they added the hardwood in our living/dining area they were able to mate the two surfaces the same height. Hopefully will be the same here. Not sure how many pics I will get as I have to work both days they are here. Will try though.
Hope everyone can ride out the hurricane with minimal damage!

49 right now...high in the mid-60's today and a pretty high probability of steady rain (which we need very badly)

One more day of the audit (at the sister plants in CT). This has been one of the most FUBAR audits I've ever been involved in. Good point is, so far it seems to have gone pretty smoothly, thanks to the registrars

Have trouble sleeping...play this at low volume:
Very soothing

good morning all.
Hot day today, and tomorrow, going up to mid 90's in fair weather.
Saturday weather still calls for rain and wind, but wind at 16mph is no problem.
Looks like the planes at Barksdale got off on time: Barksdale Changes Course, Evacuating Bombers Ahead of Hurricane Laura - Air Force Magazine

enjoying first cup of coffee despite unpleasant headache, thinking maybe a little caffeine, since I had none yesterday, may help. Am still mixing at 1/3 regular, 2/3 decaf
That and a couple more tylenol will helpfully work.

Have a number of calls to make today to county offices, got another water bill when two weeks ago called their office to verify they had shut
off my account, which they hadn't. I was on auto deduction so now I have to fuss to get my money back. And also got a property tax bill for next year, which is
all wrong, and have to get that fixed. Thankfully the $7k refund from assisted living came within one week, helped no doubt by my mentioning the name of their
company's president and intention to write a letter there if money not returned promptly. Every letter I have ever written to a company president has always gotten fast results, helped
by the fact I was not asking for anything unreasonable. Mentioning social media like Google reviews also seems to help.

Now that I have my second good PET scan under my belt, I can make firm plans for future, rent a home, etc. I'd love to get out of here by Oct 1 but oncologist may want me here another week to finish post chemo tests including another Pet scan and an EKG. Every time I look at heart monitor readout it says OK. I'm OK, you're OK...

I've been studying heavy duty extension cords, may need one to plug rv in at rental home, though my custom 70 footer may be all I need. It's only a 30 amp line and the oem/custom cable is 10 gauge it appears, so if I add a 50 footer to that, trying to decide between 10 and 12 gauge. Likely to be conservative and buy the heavier cord. The adapter from 30 to 15 amps comes in a variety of qualities, I bought the heaviest duty one I could find. Proof comes when you put your hand on cord ends and see if it's warm. I melted the end of one cord once and that taught me a lesson.
As an old fireman, I don't like anything getting hot. By the time I get to PA in October, need for a/c will be gone anyway, then it's running two small electric heaters which I carefully set to stay under 1500 watts draw. So thinking a cord rated at 1875 makes sense. Need to find a house or garage outlet not daisychained in with something else. If the garage has it's own outlet, which I won't know until next week, that would be perfect, and also mean I wouldn't need more than my extra long cord, which I had custom made to hook up to rv outlet at farm's barn. Would be nice to use RV as a guest house if I could though dealing with septic is a real challenge.

hope you all have a nice day and prayers for folks in S/E Texas, Louisiana and I guess Arkansas too.

Good morning all. A morning to make the most of being outside, no rain expected until the afternoon.

Hadn't quite appreciated before reading yesterday's posts that so many dogs keep humans who like tractors ;)

This must have been the worst summer ever to attempt to build a little concrete sluice across a ditch. The temporary dams I made to hold the water back before I can dig out the foundation have been inundated with water ever since. I have 2 pipes siphoning continuously to try and prevent the water washing away the mud that is holding the plastic sheet in place against the downstream coffer dam. Each time the rain comes the water threatens to pour over the top of the dam wall, though so far the siphons have won out with their tireless ability to run day and night without a pump in sight.

Drew, great to hear your positive test results. The best advice I was given about tinnitus was to just accept it as an inevitable constant background noise that I can never get rid of but can eventually become accustomed to. I was sceptical that I could ever do that, but after a few years I have just about come to terms with the fact that there will never be true silence again and now that does not annoy me anything like it once did.
