Coffee is done brewing. 63° with light rain this morning. Heading to 89° with more rain. Got .18" so far this morning. Need 4 times that. We got the drapes installed. It amazes me how well my 91 year old Aunt does things. Dr appointment this Nation Dog Day morning. Then a trip to Menard. No other plans for today.
According to radio this morning. It's Nation Dog Day. So it's a Sassy Picture.

Mornin Y'all!

As is ususal, I've got a bit of Chaos in my life. The buyers for my rental at a very late stage have bailed out of the contract leaving me only with legal options.

Of course I've already given my tenant 60 days notice over 30 days ago. I've already sold my home and written a contract on my next MossFlower Woods. The 1st sale buys the house and starts the remod, the 2nd sale does the pool and completes the remodel.

Of course the budget keeps getting hit. Surprise I have to pay half the new well (Half is better than all) and now they are paving the subdivision streets and in the process they are offering the paving like ~365' of my driveway and it will only cost me $10K or so (which I've been told is a shocking bargain). But still that $15K probably would have built the front porch I'm planning.

Hopefully I've attached a couple pics of the new place "Before"

A neighbor, who is also friends with my buddy I'm buying from is clearing the wood etc out of the 3 stall shed you can see (hopefully) in one picture. It is like 30" deep with a concrete floor, pole barn style so it it wide ope once inside. It also has a shop the size of the 4th stall. I'm planning to store a ton of stuff in there during remodel. But also my Harley's, ZTR, etc. Tractor will NOT fit. LOL. I'm planning to build a detached garage in the approximate location as my car in that picture also.

I've got to figure out the BEST way to move. I'm considering PODs, because I can just leave them packed for a time, but I believe the shed is plenty big enough. so...

But the clock is ticking. I've got to be out by Sept. 25th right now.

Hope this worked.
Be well all of you!
David

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 4:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 96F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Smoke lifted just enough yesterday evening to see some blue in the sky, but still very unhealthy levels. I think 2020 will be remembered as the year of the mask. Seems like I've got one on anytime I'm outside the house now.

That's not good news, Phil, but at least the weather is cooperating.

Could more wind chimes be in Boo's future, Thomas? Hope your time at the dirt gym ls limited going forward.

I don't think women my age in bikinis is anything to look forward to, Kyle.

Congrats on the wins, Rich. Did they let fans attend?

Welcome back, SC. I have friends in Salmon Arm, and enjoyed my one visit with them a few years ago.

I'm hopin' for only good news at the hospital for you today, Drew. And another easy time with the chemo. :crossfingers:

Hope you don't find any rocks in them holes, Don.

That was quick work on clearing that brush, RS. Looks a lot nicer!

I think a significant portion of my electric bill is going to pay PG&E's legal staff for their bankruptcy proceedings.:pullinghair: But if the last month is any indication, I should be able to stay below Baseline usage, and the current rate plan looks to be a better deal. Sure will be nice when the smoke clears, though, as it looks like it's stopping about 20%-30% of the sunlight from reaching the panels.

Oregon mechanic was out yesterday, so maybe I'll hear back from him today.

Followed up on a few other purchases that are having delivery issues, learning that one place dropped the ball entirely and didn't even have an order in place. Now their equipment is broken for another three weeks. Good thing I'm not in any hurry, but I didn't tell them that. Waiting to hear back on email inquiries on the others.

Still finding devices that haven't been switched over to the new WiFi network; yesterday it was the Yamaha stereo receiver. Had to get the manual out, which had a slick way of using the iPhone to set it back up. Took two tries, but now it's back to normal. I guess Einstein was wrong about repeating something and expecting a different result.

My buddy is still dodging evacuation orders down south, but the closest fire line hasn't advanced. He's getting to work, so for now he's still a happy camper.

The new network wire showed up yesterday, so I'll see if I can't get a new run pulled out to the generator pad today. Worked OK last time, but this wire is a little stiffer and a little bit bigger in diameter.

Still haven't figured out the best way to approach the garage reorganization. Looks like I may just have to chip away at it, spreading it out so there's more time to let things sort themselves out in my mind.

The batch of spaghetti and meatballs I started in the Instant Pot last night smells pretty good this morning.:licking:

Hump Day already?:eek::confused3:

67 nice cool degrees out, and low humidity promised, so even 88 won't be too bad.

We caught the edge of the storm that blew through last night. Not much more rain than the normal morning dew.

Prayers for Texas and other in the path. Kyle, glad to read some are evacuating.

Thomas, Boo may learn to like your music and bring friends.

Cleaned out the mower deck again, about another hundred lbs of well packed grass curds. Speaking of curds, I went to a place in Seattle where they make cheese curds fresh and they were soo good. Can only find them packaged around here. Also changed the blades out with the ones I sharpened recently, and then mowed the Coco frisbee field...Coco is still in bad condition, but we are starting two new meds today.

My wife just came over to me wearing a t-shirt that says "Today's Good Mood is brought to you by Coffee"...my cue to go brew another pourover.

Good morning to all! Starting to get tired of hearing it myself.... no changes to the weather.... hot and dry, hot and dry.... maybe some changes next week.

Did the errands yesterday, came back and unloaded some groceries. Then decided it would be a good day to go into town to Lowes for a couple items. All in all, that was all that got done, didn't even unlock the shop.

Good news is the welder / plasma cutter should be delivered today! 2-3 days earlier than expected! Today's agenda is to get out in the shop and back on track with the projects..... I see more big heavy ones in the near future....

Ron, Sassy knows it is her day... she is behaving while anxiously awaiting the special treat! She is really cute!

Hope everyone gets a chance to move away from that storm! Sounds like it is going to wreak havoc!

Paving costs $$$$.... just ask Buppies.... Cha-Ching.... A guy had stopped here last summer, proudly announcing "summer special pricing" for grading / installing stone / roller packing our 1/2 mile drive. $24,000..... THAT was not anything close to paving costs..... I cordially thanked him for his time.....
not sayin he was too far off with the price by the time he brought equipment and manpower out, plus the materials. I calculated out the cost of just the stone needed at about $6,000.....

Gonna get movin'.... before it gets too hot....
Everyone have a great day!

70°F and clear skies with some spotty fog this morning, going up to 91° today.

On the subject of Dogs, Wife had to take the youngest to the vet yesterday. After letting them all out, she came back in with a swollen face and puked. Vet said she'd been stung repeatedly on the face and mouth. Wife said she'd been out by the peach trees (one is inside the fence), probably eating fallen peaches. When she went out there to look later, she was chased off by a bunch of bald faced hornets. So, now we know what stung Mika. She went back with spray and killed a bunch of them, and after I got home we strung up a temporary fence to block off the back part of the yard. We'd talked recently about taking down that tree. It seems to be in ink on the agenda for the weekend now.

Every day is "Dog Day" at our place. Here's our three clowns (Evey, Mika, & Neve).

Welcome back, SC.

Hope everyone in the paths of major storms fare well today. Hope Jay is well, too.
