I understand what you're saying. They also can run a lot of hydraulic implements for which a tractor would need an external pump. It seems like a hydraulic post hole digger would be the cat's meow.

You don't need a lot of hydraulics to run a post hole digger. I do it on my tractor with a 7.3 gpm pump. 5-27-07 PHD Ops Ck.jpg1-7-12 Auger on FEL.jpg It is the cat's meow.

It looks like a mess but made some good progress clearing trees today. Dropped at least 20 plus and started with some grapple work before running out of daylight. Need maybe one more full day to finish clearing and cleaning up.

Now that will make a nice pond slope. Gonna be a lot of slit coming down that hillside now.

One of the trees dropped is a pretty good size walnut. 24" trunk. Could probably get some nice 10' and 14' lumber out of it if I had someone mill it.
Bring it on down here.;) I will put you at the front of my cut list.

Looking good, will be cool to see a drone shot once cleared. That machine can do some work!

Really jealous of those of you that have beautiful hardwoods on your property. Nothing much around here good for turning or fine furniture making... just expensive milled stuff or bowl blanks.

Is that a Hawz grapple with the walnut tree?
I have a Hawz 68 inch rock grapple with 3 inch spacing and dual lids looks just like that and the unique gray color (they are made here in the midwest) it is a great grapple and I love it, but when I first got it and saw the grapples flex, it freaked me out a little bit! But soon realized that is how they are designed and no problem. And for the price, nobody can touch it, I purchased it from some farmers an hour west of our place in NE. That sell implements to supplement their income, got my forks from them too. And paid less for the pair than what most grapples go for. I did damage the 3/8 hydraulic line and replaced it with 1/2 then found that that lid operates much faster now, so im going to replace the other side with 1/2 line as well.

It is. I purchased through an online auction at a steal. I paid around $750 for it. So far it has held up really well through a lot of abuse. Mine is actually black. Looks a bit grey in the pics. Most of theirs are gray but they will paint in black as well. HAWZ 84 ROOT GRAPPLE

Here's where I left off today. Have about 4 large trees left in the main pond to remove. Leaving for vacation tomorrow. Heading to Gatlinburg, TN for a week so probably a couple of weeks before any additional progress updates.

If he's gone too long I'll swing down by there and check on it. We're "neighbors". :)

Just enough to wet the ground. Nothing to speak of.
