John Deere 110 TLB
Just inquired with local JD dealer on GR belly pan/skid plate and stabilizer shields. Dealer suggested that belly pan/skid plate was available but stabilizer shields discontinued. With that, I jumped on a used set from Wengers. Price was fair. They are complete but worse for wear. I spent a few hours prying and hammering one side straight, a lot of eyeballing and sweat. Will get the other side done and refinish.

Good plan!
I would love to find a set of stabilizer shields to fit my Kubota L48 TLB.

How much were you quoted on the skid plate if you don't mind me asking?

Roughly $515 plus $300 Freight.

What are stabilizer shields? Are they the two steel halves that protect the outrigger hyd rams(rock guards)?

Copy. My 110 had them but they look easy enough to make.
Thinking about the belly pan, the commercial version bolts onto the trans/tranny adding extra weight to them and if ever there was a strike, transferring those stresses to the drive train. I wonder if a better design wouldn't be to attach it to the subframe, thus "tying" then together for cross strength. $500.00 for the pan and $300.00 for shipping seems excessive.

I have never seen the Deere design. It sounds like there's more to it than Kubota's guards.

I installed shields on my L47 recently. Yesterday a good sized rock rolled down and bounced off one of them leaving a small dent.
For me, they were worth the $200 investment. Pricy, (my opinion) but cheeper than replacing the cylinder.

Absolutly. I agree on the rock guards. I believe the $800.00 he was referring to was for the belly pan.

As perhaps stated before, I purchased these used from Wengers as supposedly they were discontinued from GR. They had significant battle scars as in dents, twists, rust and peening. I have perhaps eight hours straightening and refinishing. I installed at the same time I replaced the RH stabilizer cylinder. I have found in my Magic rattle can refinishing that CAT yellow is just slightly darker than Deere yellow but very close. Cub Cadet yellow is notably brighter. Majic takes forever to dry and painting outside leaves you with lots of tiny bugs to pick out.

Nice, they are sure worth it. Really worth every penny and the hassle you spent. They look great now.

Majic rattle can paint is junk!
Left outside, it will only look good for a year or two.
The cylinder shields do look very nice now though.

Re: 110 TLB Stabilizer Shields and Belly Pan/Skid Plate

Got in the GR Manufacturing 704745 Belly Pan/Skid Plate. I had to go through a JD dealer to get it. The first dealer I contacted was United Ag and Turf (formerly North Country Tractor) in Dover NH, a bunch of imbeciles! I spoon fed them all the information, GR p/n and phone. They came back with a quote of over $500. After weeks of prodding regarding the quote being all inclusive or with additional freight, they finally replied and fessed up that freight would be an additional $300. I guess if I previously ordered based on quote alone they would have slapped me with a freight charge thereafter, Holy smokes! GR forces you to go through a JD dealer, profitability and zero value added. Interesting, I've applied for a parts department job there twice in ten years. I have a lot more insight and would never have done this to a customer. I ended up ordering through Rosencrantz tractor in Kensington NH, much better deal and service.

Re: 110 TLB Stabilizer Shields and Belly Pan/Skid Plate

Ran into issue test fitting brackets for the skid plate. Fortunately, the design uses existing unused tapped holes underneath. The flange for the rear support on the RH side on the transaxle has a footprint larger than the machined pad on the transaxle. I had a few options, disregard and bolt up as is, use spacer, grind/enlarge transaxle pad, modify bracket. There were no notes or instructions from GR in regards to this. I called them for technical support. Through imaging and phone text, I opted to notch the bracket. Be aware of this should you purchase!

Here is my modification. For the boatload of money I spent, this required modification and my time expenditure was very unfortunate and disappointing. I assume they will warranty and replace bracket should it fail.

Guess you should have visited a local welder and fabricate up your own.

I would assume that they would NOT warranty the bracket, since you modified it !

Part would not fit as designed and supplied. Called GR immediately upon problem. Talked to GR tech and sent images of problem, description of modification, images of modified part with okay from GR tech. If part is fails, they will have an unhappy customer and they will supply a part that does fit.

I hope so!
Who was that tech you spoke with?
Oh...he doesn't work here anymore.
