Definitely as close as you can get to checking out. If he’d done anything different on the drive he could’ve been past, right under it or coming upon it right after it happened.

Reaper must’ve stopped for a coffee this time.

Looks more like you're building a house. Now, if you were hauling or towing a house out there on a too small trailer and it wasn't secured, it might fit on this thread.
Well, earlier in the thread I posted these pictures IMG_20200717_084637535.jpgIMG_20200717_084626536.jpg

Ok I got to ask. We are used to hunting ducks over water. Does this area flood around the building site in winter ? Do you put out kiddy pools for them to land in ?

Just to keep the theme of the thread going I am used to hauling a pickup bed full of decoys and what not for hunting and it’s always interesting to see how some of the guys load up early in the morning. Usually hear the comment “Oh sure it will ride like that just fine, done it a hundred times.........”

That is a cut out in the timber, about 40yds in front of the blind is planted corn that will be flooded come fall. We will use a boat to get to this particular blind. The bottom of blind is 33" and will be 6" in the water at full pool.

No Wood Ducks, but a ton of Mallards and Geese.

We finished this morning at about 10:30am and I drove the 400 miles home from Kansas. IMG_20200719_094945129_HDR.jpgIMG_20200719_094952691.jpgIMG_20200719_095042570_HDR.jpg

One part of our downsizing last year was getting rid of the pick-em-up truck. Ever since, I've been on a mission to justify life without it. We're finishing the basement in the new house. I rented the Menards truck for the lumber and hired out the drywall. I can carry 10 foot drain pipe inside my little car with the hatch partly open but here is how the cool people carry 12 foot sheet flooring!

Sounds like you downsized the wrong vehicle?

I just hope the driver had time and presence of mind enough to duck.

I ducked---when a scrapper truck lost a vehicle bumper.
Dang thing bounced every which way and totally unpredictable.
I was driving an MG B in those days and ducked down in the passenger's side as the scrap bumper clipped my fender and bounced from the windshield.
Changed my shorts.
Worst part was my insurance cancelled me claiming I frequented wrong places. (driving on highway?)---Well do admit having been backed into in a parking lot, driver was in a hurry, backed out without looking and --wham!
Neither incident could be attributed to me but they just did not like to pay!
Simply 'wrong time, wrong place' .

If that's the finished project, there's not much "blind" to your duck deck.

True, should have said this phase is complete, Labor day weekend the walls, roof, wiring, plumbing and paint will be tackled, two weeks later we will brush.

I should have took pictures of the 2 pallets of concrete and 3 trips with the 120 gallon water tank I hauled in as well, I cannot wait to finish the flatbed for that little truck. Whoever thought a plastic liner with steel sides was a good idea needs a swift kick in the nads.

I have abused every Toyota I have ever owned, they are solid built vehicles.
