had a squirrel chew the wire connecting the coolant temperature sensor to the intellipanel and of course the gauge shows no temperature.

anyone have an idea where i might find a replacement connector with leads or a 3rd party sensor/connector with leads?

kubota has no oem parts for this. WOW.

the squirrel left less than 1/4" wire on the connector, so i can't solder to it. really do need the temperature gauge to work.

thanks in advance.

Is the connector a type that you can push the pin out of? If so, de-pin it and solder on some wire.

thanks for the response michael.

no, it seems to be one that is molded. i tried pulling the longest 'nub' of wire out of the pin with needle-nose pliers. would NOT budge.

the pin that mates to the sensor was easily removed, but replacing it with a generic might be impossible...

Pins are normally inserted into molded connectors - at least the usually white stiff plastic kind. The rubber molded ones, no. To remove the pin a tool is required. It's like a very thin tube which will just fit over the pin. It depresses a clip allowing removal of the pin.

thanks a lot. if this tool has a match for the plug, it might be doable.

i'll drop a photo of the f/r of the plug. i'm old and the eyes sometimes play tricks. i can't tell if there is a recessed pin behind the 'face plate' of the plug. probably wrong term - face plate.

Something is holding the black piece onto the white piece then the pins are held in to the white plug......get the tool if it does not work send it back...

The first pic is too blurry to be useful. If it looks like the pin is removable, one would stick a thin tool in from the blue side pushing down a tab and pulling out the wire. Can't really tell without touching and feeling for myself.

I think the blue plastic will come off the connector thus freeing the pins to come out the front of the connector.

There are two square holes that may be the release clip access

OK - the blue piece did separate from the black piece. thanks a lot. i feel dumb.

the pins are small. use hemostats or small needle nose maybe to remove them?

Use a strong magnifying glass to make certain there are no small protrusions on the pins locking them in place.

It has been too long for me to remember.

Try pushing them out from the back side.

i removed the rubber grommets at the back of the black piece that insulate the wire. if the wire is wiggled, the connector wiggles. but tugging on the wire doesn't release it and pushing from the other end doesn't help either. i can't see any way to unlatch the connector from the housing. i will try again...

You are going to need some kind of thin blade to slide in above or below the blade to release a barb of some kind.

i appreciate the responses. i have been so busy and really have about given up on ANY solution. there is no p/n on the connector, which makes identifying it impossible.

i wrote kubota yesterday and received the standard 'check with the dealer' and consult the online parts list/manual.

it seems that a 3rd party solution will be necessary.

just an update. a supplier on ebay managed to find this part and today the repair was made! idk how he found a supplier or cross reference for this connector, but he did and it works just fine!

Do you care to share part number(s), link or anything that might help the next user find it more easily?

Thanks for considering.
