A clip in the hole in the wrench so it can't come off and good to go.

Looks like a pickup towing a farm implement like a grain wagon in the field. I suspect he forgot the hitch pin and is using whatever he had and will probably bend the adjustable "hammer". If he's going from the field to the barn, i'd let it go. On the highway, it's a, Nope!

Whatever it is, it appears to have a significant amount of negative tongue weight and it looks like it frequently has negative tongue weight is a point where the hitch is bent.
I'm not sure I would trust the welds holding the hitch to the tongue of a trailer.
Seems like there should be a little bit more weld there and a bigger hitch welded to the tongue.

Interesting how a picture can be interpreted when we have incomplete information.
That negative tongue weight appearance could be due to the double axle trailer normally sitting that way. Mine will sit with the tongue off the ground by a bit but we don't have enough of the picture to see the angle. And the bent hitch could be due to it being welded that way especially with the rough cut appearance of the steel which implies a quick and dirty implementation. As for more weld material - I completely over looked that, but I agree.

So was mine, and I haven’t said it yet.

No picture because it all happened so fast and was on a 65mph highway in the opposite direction. I saw a smallish car with a slide open moon roof and a 9 ft sickle bar mower frame and cutter bar sticking straight up in the air and out of the moon roof. It had to be sticking out of the roof by maybe 6 ft. It was shocking, to say the least and I wish I had a picture.

It may well have been the whole mower inside the car but could have been just the sickle bar sticking out. Either way, I never saw anything like it. Guess necessity is the mother of invention.

EDIT--and they were going 65MPH
