Funny how the Chinese E-Bay vendors get so upset when you leave them nasty feedback, saying they want to work with you, but don't bother to take down or change the totally false and misleading listing.

UPS has continued to be rock solid through these past months. FedEx has been lousy. Several of my shipments sat for days at stops across the country and were late arriving. FedEx seems to be unorganized much more than usual. Last week we received 2 boxes from the same shipper on the same day, but they came on separate trucks an hour apart. The trucks come out of the FedEx location an hour from me. You would think they would have trucks packed to be efficient in their routes but apparently they these trucks were delivering to the same roads, overlapping deliveries. :confused2:

Ordered shocks from Local JD for my E-Gator on Wednesday Afternoon. Arrived at Dealer early Friday Morning having come over the border from the US. VERY Commendable service JD!

Of course, the key in all of this is that I didn't need the chocks critically.

But think about it... $5 for a flashlight shipped half way around the world. Amazing really.

For decades, the U.S. Postal Service has charged some countries less than it charges domestic shippers to move packages within the United States.

"At today's rates, the shipping of a 100-gram parcel to Fairfax, Virginia, would cost a small business in Marion, North Carolina, at least $1.94 but it would cost a company in Shanghai only $1.12," Paul Misener, Amazon's vice president for global public policy, told Congress in 2015. "This has left thousands of American small businesses at a competitive disadvantage against foreign competition?ecause of the size of the hidden shipping subsidies."

I've purchased to many things that I've given 4 stars or less and then had the vendor ask me to up my rating, WITHOUT fixing any problems I found with the product.

I had a Powersports dealer ask me to leave a "G" review. I gave them 4 stars. My saleslady asked if there was something they could do to get that last star?
I said 4 is above average. I didn't trash them in the review but left out the part where they liked to schedule an appointment and then got the we don't see you look from the other staff as my saleslady was busy. I had to wait for her probably a half hour. If it wasn't a 2 hour drive I would have left.

I ordered a few small items from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware Sunday afternoon. An e-mail confirmed the order and predicted a 7 to 10 days for delivery. Well them no-good peddlers had the package in my hand in a few hours shy of 2 full days. What happened to the 7 to 10 day promise? Holy cow man! Now I have to get to work a week earlier than planned.

Just kidding, I love this company. They seam to have just about everything.

If she's paid on commission there was some justification for them not to take over, although they should at least have acknowledged you. Setting up sales appointments has to be like scheduling a colonoscopy; they never really know how long it will take until they get into it.

I don't give reviews as a rule, but it seems like having the top rating requires better than average service.

I ordered a tool from Grizzly to be delivered to my place. It's on a pallet 4'x4'x3' and 350#. I live on a ranch which is on a state road. They won't deliver to me even though I have the facilities to handle large deliveries. I've had 53' semis turn in, and low-boys with excavators, etc. But Grizzly delivery requirements say only on the street, (but apparently not if it's a state road). They wanted me to meet them at a parking lot and use their lift gate to unload it. Yeah, but how am I going to get it on my trailer if I agree to that? I need a forklift where ever it's off loaded. I have a forklift at my place but no way to transport it. (It's to heavy for my trailer.) They cancelled my order.

Maybe the solution in that case is hire a tow truck, the type with a rollback platform. Winch the object across from the delivery truck onto the tow truck for last-mile delivery.

For heavy stuff several times I asked that it be sent to the closest freight terminal for will call. Take my trailer to the terminal and they load it with their forklifts. Takes a half a day when all is said and done but also reduces shipping costs.

From their raised lift gate to your trailer bed?

At the FedEx terminal in Sacramento there are spaces for customers trailers in the parking lot. When they locate your pallet a warehouse guy runs it down a long ramp to ground level then puts it on your trailer. When you arrive your job gets put in the queue with everything else they are doing and can take a while.

There are about 30 semis backed up to the loading docks. Your stuff might be in one of them or stacked somewhere in the building.

Like many others I order a lot of stuff online. I used to order a lot of fishing stuff mail order back in the late '50's.
Up until about the last few years if I was told a package had "shipped" then that meant the item was in the shippers control (USPS, FedEx etc.).
Now that seems to have been redefined to "we are thinking of shipping you what you ordered" by many non-Amazon firms.
I'll order something online and a few hours later get an email "YOUR PACKAGE HAS SHIPPED".

Darn, happened again, so I wrote them
Please stop the practice of sending an email saying something has shipped when all you have done is create a label. Shipped means it's in the possession of the delivery agent and out the warehouse door, not sitting in your warehouse waiting for pickup next week.
It's Thursday afternoon.
I need a more succinct response I can send to these firms that "shipped" means label created.

I ordered parts for my backpack sprayer on 6/10 and the website said orders are shipped within 2-3 days. On 6/16 I received an email saying my order was shipped. On 6/17 at 11:00pm the package was received by USPS to actually start shipment. Expected delivery is 6/22.

This is a First! Ordered a box of 50 3-ply face masks and a low pressure tire gauge from Amazon on Saturday, it shipped on Wednesday and arrived Thursday (today)! The Planet's must have been aligned or something?

A few years ago I ordered a wool coat from a famous outdoor supplier in Freeport Me. The first time they shipped the order it was completely messed up and I received a pair of "Petite Lady's jeans." I called them up and we got quite a laugh out of it. They reshipped my coat but by then it was the Christmas season. The order showed "delivered" but I didn't receive it. UPS had left it at an abandoned building a mile up the road... not the first or last time that they've done that. (My number is on the road at the end of my driveway.) I thought that's where it was but can't go waltzing into somebody's dooryard looking for it; can't contact UPS directly; so I had to call the vendor and reorder the thing again. Meanwhile it's getting cold and I need the coat. I was out working in the yard when UPS showed up with the package they had left at the wrong address, so I called the vendor and cancelled the replacement order. I've lived here since 2003 and have been getting orders through UPS for all of that time; you would think they would know where I live by now.

That is what I do and I have done it a dozen times or so. They want you there NOW when they call, do not make them wait. They are in the business of moving freight and will not appreciate your freight sitting there waiting for someone to pick it up. They forklift it onto your truck/trailer, you sign for it and away you go.
