Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #112,231
Good afternoon. It was 71° and very foggy this morning. It's now 89° and headed to 92° later.

I had an 8 a.m. appointment with my Dermatologist in La Grange. I had made the appointment back in December 2019. This was a routine checkup. Their Covid protocols were well organized and easy to follow;

1. Call them on arrival and wait in the truck.

2. Come to their office when they call you that .. they're ready. Got my call about 15 minutes early.

3. Wear your own mask or they will furnish you one.

4. Nurse at door takes your temperature. Extra points if you guess what it is within 0.2°. Nailed it at 98.1°.

5. Then you fill out a short form.

Out of state travel in last 14 Days?
Any respiratory symptoms?
Anyone in your family with symptoms?
Have you posted on TNT .. in last 8 hours?

I walked thru a totally empty waiting room, to one of the examination rooms. Exam was completed routinely except for everyone wearing the masks.

I drove thru my ranch gate at 9:05 a.m.

I'll be sooo glad when only surgeons and robbers have to wear these stoopid masks!

And ... Still need a haircut! Maybe tomorrow.

Everyone have a great day.

Prayers to all .. extra ones for Drew.

I had a Dr televisit today. Then he wanted me to go in for bloodwork. So I made afternoon appt. they didn’t mention any special protocol on the phone. Walked in 10 min early, nurse that knows me was taking someone’s temp out in the hallway, she asked me to sit in chair in hallway to wait. Several people passing me in the hallway. Everyone with masks. Finally different nurse came and took my temp. I couldn’t understand most of what she said. I heard the word travel, I said no, assuming they meant out of country.
Takes me in side door to first room. Never got to the normal waiting room. She drew blood and sent me out the same door.

Stopped by son’s apt for a few minutes.

This all after going into office because some of my test equipment wasn’t working. Got some more test stuff. Everyone must wear mask at work unless alone in an office.

Then stopped by Costco for gas.
Then decided to check out inside Costco, wanted a couple things I couldn’t get from the delivery service (like roundup concentrate they only carry in the spring, they had none)

One way in thru a cart maze, no wait. People off the bat were getting too close, I kept running away from people. Ended up over $120 after just getting a Costco order delivered yesterday. 2 more cases water, some stuff that doesn’t show up online like tomato sauce and palmetto cheese spread. Case water $2.99 was $3.59 delivered. Some things were $4 more delivered. Ouch.

No rain yet.

Stopped work at 930pm, started 8 am.

RNG .. I'll offer you my experience with toothbars. I bought a Piranha Tooth Bar from BXpanded shortly after buying my LS XR4046HC in 2014.

BXpanded Piranha Toothbar

It was easy to install, you drill 2 holes in the side of your bucket. I liked it so well that, when I bought my LS XR4155HC in 2017, I told dealer to just install my old bucket on the new tractors since it already had the PTB and three hooks welded on the bucket. The FEL with the PTB digs well and back drags well. The teeth are sharp and do great cutting roots.

Everything attachments has a recently developed, similar type of tooth bar that looks to be well designed. If I didn't already have the PTB .. I probably would have given this one a hard look.

Custom Wicked Tooth Bar for Tractor Buckets.

I originally looked into the Ratchet Rake but .. wasn't keen on the ratchet straps that hold it onto your bucket. YMMV.

Ratchet Rake, LLC - All Terrain Rake, Snow Edge, Tractor attachment, Bucket attachment, Loader, Skid loader, Kubota, Skid steer, Landscape rake, Brush remover, York Rake, Harley Rake, Rock Rake, Tractor rake attachment, Construction attachment, New Holland, Bobcat, Fire safety, Home fire safety, Fire prevention, John Deere, skid steer attachment, tractor implement

Ratchet rake is not a tooth bar. I bought a tooth at for the L5030 years ago before piranha.. today I’d probably get the EA one since I like their grapple. The RR is nice for spreading dirt etc.

Another funny thing about Costco, the cashier would not touch my card, I had to hold it while he scanned it. I had placed it on the first item on the belt. He brought the first item back to me saying he couldn’t touch the card. But he had no issue touching all the items I had touched.
In hind sight I should have used self checkout.

Not a problem for me. Bridgeport mill and 12 lathe. Make most anything I want.

Yup I know ...

I thought cylinders had bushings.

Sadly, no ... :(

I do not see any wear in FEL frame.

I don't recall offhand, but it may be that the pins are locked (bolted) into the bosses on FEL frame and don't rotate (seems likely) ... but just don't recall off top of my head. If that is the case, then they would probably have much less wear than the pins or the rod of the cylinder that the pins fit through.

The thing I have noticed is the floppiness of the bucket. Mine has enough slop in it where if the bucket is loaded say with gravel (weighs a lot) the bucket will rotate (bounce) quite a bit (10 degrees of rotation or more) as it's going over uneven terrain.

Suspect that can come from a couple of things: 1. just the wear on the pin and the bore on the rod end that it fits through, and 2. wear on the internal seals on the cylinder piston that bleed through or leak down.

I do have a pin quick attach.

Right.

I gave up on Costco, when I retired full time to the ranch. I still use Sam's Club and most of my needs can be bought online with free shipping because our Plus Business Membership. I stayed with Sam's because Business members can get in at 7 a.m. (in normal times). Costco .. no special hours for business members.

On the rare occasion, I shop at the Sam's, that's about a mile from our Richmond house. As I pick up my items, I scan each with my phone, using Sam's "Scan n Go". When I'm done, I bypass checkout and head straight to the exit, show the attendant my phone, his scanner looks at my phone, downloads ALL TNT posts, and I'm on my way. EZPZ!

I went through that on the FEL on the old tractor. The torsion tube that runs between the two loader booms was cracked at the weld joint, so I just cut one side off so I could clamp it to the mill table and bore out the pin holes to take larger pins.

I remember that ... you posted some pics of it on the table I think ...

Pretty sure I made bronze sleeves to go in there, too.

That I don't remember ... but you very well might have ... :D

Very surprised and disappointed Kubota didn't put sleeves in there to begin with, and there aren't any in the M62, which is supposed to be from the construction equipment side of the house. But there it is.

Yup ... really kind of surprising that they didn't do it on the M62 ... :(

Good luck with whatever you decide to do; you're a pretty capable fabricator and shouldn't have too much trouble figuring out something that'll work.

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll come up with a solution ... just don't want it to turn into a long runway ... have lots of projects I want to get done this summer.

But picking up grass for a month isn't one of them ...

I caught it, just ignored it

Our lady who cuts our hair is coming to the house Friday to do all of ours. My wife couldn’t take it any longer.

Mostly,
Yes, user error. Was an obscure setting in android. Product I’m testing has an android app (that we also create). Things weren’t communicating right. Found more issues tonight. Have to discuss with developer tomorrow.
This problem put me 4 days behind. Customer is raring to get the new release.
