I'm driving from FL with $20K cash, to pick up a tractor, and have my FL concealed carry permit.
I can legally be armed outside NYC?

Above is post 78, it doesn't say anything about you carrying anywhere, legal or not. It seems to be directed at Slackdaddy but I don't see anything that indicates where he is from. If he is from NY state and licensed in NY state then why couldn't he carry where he is licensed?

Of course HE could, if HE lives in NY state.
The point was that not EVERYONE who buys a tractor in NY state, lives in NY state!
The issue is that a person traveling from ANOTHER state with $20K cash, to NY state, to buy a tractor, cannot legally be armed in NY state.
I have bought two tractors with in states that DID NOT permit me to carry.....though I would have liked to.

I have only sold a few high dollar (over $10K) items to private parties. I meet them at their bank with the item I have for sale with me. They take out cash, give it to me, and the deal is done (on camera I might add).

I installed a generator for a guy that handed me a brand new banded stack of $100s.......$10,000 worth. I didnt even blink an eye. I deal in cash alot. He gave me letter from bank certifying bills were checked by them. Just to be sure though.....after thinking about it.... i had my bank run them thru counter. All tested ok.

I hardly ever carry anymore. Have concealed license, but just dont feel the need.

Yes New York state is backwards in that they do not do reciprocal permits, but if you are a New York state resident you can (generally) get a carry permit.

It was discussed in a referenced thread but I'll say it again. If you get pulled over for a license plate light out and have large $$$$ amounts of cash they can take that cash depending on the states civil asset forfeiture laws.

YES, Police can be thieves too!!.. it happened many times!!. DON'T carry large amounts of cash!!.. only carry what you wouldn't mind too much being stolen by Police!!..

in New York, you have to demonstrate a need for a carry permit, else you don't get one!. a home/firing range permit is much easier to get!.. New York City is much harder to get ANY permit, though.. they have their own laws there!..

People don't want their money stolen by Police, who use it to fund their money making operations!. how's that?. waiting for a check to clear should be no problem, though..

there you go, it's better not to tempt the Police with Money!!.. you can Google " Civil Forfeiture" and see many thefts that have happened!. Sometimes, after many years, they can get their money back, but don't count on that!. Civil law is a TRUE JOKE!... I don't believe in it!.. at least in Criminal law, you have many protections..
