SAFETY TOE BOOTS OR NOT.

Composite toe or steel toe Chippewa Super Loggers here 99% of the time if , if it isn't that then I'm wearing some composite toe Thorogood's with a wedge sole I use for concrete and shop work. I try really hard to buy USA made boots. I save the sneakers for the gym.

That figures. As soon as I say something, something comes along to challenge my notions.

Had my morning coffee yesterday, googling whatever, and couldn't help but notice those shoes.

I bet she's not a day past 50!

We are primarily a shoe-less house (we take our shoes off at the door), but my wife has a bad back, and if she is in the house all day, sometimes her back will bother her. She has learned that if she wears canvas shoes (also called Keds), they are more like a slipper, so okay to wear in the house, but her back does not bother her as much wearing them either.

But like New Balance sneakers, they are sneakers the older women wear, but she is not that old (40).

Yes but she is well balanced!
Maybe just a bit top heavy. ;)

I wear whatever I happen to be wearing when I operate a tractor. Depends more on what I'm doing with it than the fact that I'm driving a tractor. Might be sandals, might be high top logger boots. I avoid safety toe boots as much as possible.

When wearing my institutional crocks, it's not uncommon for me to pressure wash them and my feet a few times day in the summer. Kind of refreshing. Or use, compressed air if it's just a matter of saw chips from the chainsaw. Chaps, safety boots, helmet, ect? NAH, just crocks, shorts, sunglasses and hearing protection for me. Oh and Beer, lots of Beer!

8" tall Danner or Red Wing non-steel toe, Always, except when riding, then Harley Davidson Rainmakers. Twisted ankles cured me of the low rise shoes decades ago.
After working in mfg and ST with Mets were mandatory I am very relieved now that I don't HAVE to wear them. Big toes did not fit no matter what the brand.
I mustn't have thermometers in my feet cuz I never understood when fellows said certain shoes were too hot. I swear I could wear wool socks and bunny boots year round and it wouldn't bother me nor would my feet smell. Odd.

^^^^
Wool socks are all that I own, I wear them year round. My feet will soak a set on cotton in minutes, whereas the wool wicks the moisture away.

Wool is truly a beautiful product. But for me, an instrument of torture. Funny, how people are so different.

Polypropylene or nylon sock liners then over that is the wool socks. Keeps the wool away from the skin, and the liners pass the sweat to the wool and keeps your feet dry.

Composite toe for my boots.
We know how heavy our implements are.
No matter how 'careful' (as mentioned previously) we are, sheet happens, life in general.

Composite toe boots may be easier for ER to remove then steel toes.
Calling in the maintenance guy with a DeWalt grinder to cut them off well gotta be a great video....:D

Funny how many places I have been to in my non safety Prospector boots, that required safety boots, and people just saw the boots and assumed. NEVER once questioned.

Ain't got no steel toe boots, but I wear my beat up dickies wedge sole if I'm doing actual work while on the tractor. But, if I'm just mowing, heat of summer, sheeeeiiiiit....sometimes I'm just in a pair of shorts, barefoot. Gotta work on that tan, baby!

Many metal pedals, stairs, steps and such are downright painfull in bare feet.

So are hydro pedals after an hour or so. That's what I hear, anyways. I've actually never tried it, although I did plow snow in my slippers once.

The coppertone tan comes at a price.

Yeah, often it's skin cancer.

Jstpssng, I hope they weren't your wifes bunny slippers.

YOLO. Also, if bunny slippers work for Walmart shopping, perfectly fine for tractor work.

We went into Walmart awhile ago, and this woman an us came to the register at the same time, so I told her she could go first. But when we got up to pay for our stuff the clerk mentioned how nice it as for me to let that woman go first. I told the clerk since it was 2 PM, and the woman was in her pajamas, if she wanted to go to bed and was in that much of a hurry, who was I to slow her down.

But while I might live in a shoeless house, I would not walk barefoot across my lawn. I do not do anything barefoot. Everything I do is either in sneakers or in boots...
